Ok, I see this chick on ebay is selling nioxin (30 count) for 4.99, they look ok and her feedback is great. So I email her an offer to take all 5 bottles that she has off her hands. This chick sends me an email stating that she will charge me $46.00 for shipping. WTH!:eek:

I wanted to ask her what she was smoking :perplexed :swearing: :swearing: :swearing: but I politely declined.

What kind of shipping costs 46.00! It's not gold bricks.

Has anyone ever charged very large unusual amounts for shipping of your products?
 
Where the heck is she shipping them from Jupiter???

That sounds like a rip off...she is really getting her money through the shipping charges. All her feedback is positive??

I got mine on ebay for like 19-20 is the average, She should just charge regular price and use regular shipping costs, ain't nobody that dumb!

I would report her to Ebay and send the a copy of the email.
 
She's not international. I believe that people won't look at the high shipping, buy the product and then not be able to back out of it. I am glad I asked first!

I actually see sky-high shipping rates all the time on ebay. A few ebayers have written articles on it.
 
A lot of ebayers do that, b/c they avoid the high selling fees when they charge a higher shipping. However $46 is outrageous unless its same day air from UPS or something.
 
I looked it up and there are rules against it. I reported her butt! Probably won't do anything but...
 
It wouldn't even cost $46 via USPS to London from the US.

Ebay now have a rule where you can report sellers doing this, and if found doing wrong they'll shut em down. I would have sent her the link regarding their policy then told her to give me a realistic quote.

Where is the Link for that auction. Because I had a Nioxin auction saved in 'My ebay' for a seller who had 5 bottles from the US also.

I didn't know about the initiative. I would have met her at a reasonable amount, but she admitted that she was jacking up the shipping because the price for the item was low.

Thats exactly what she's trying to do. Its the oldest eBay scam in the book. *smh* And for buyers who care about their eBay repuation/feedback, they will not want to retract the bid, lest she leave negative feedback. :( So it's a win-lose situation, basically. She wins, we lose out.

Girl, that's why I look at what they charge for shipping before I buy. I would have looked down at those shipping charges and moved on to another, more honest, seller.
