do these rollers damage the hair? i was thinking about trying rolling my hair with them and sitting under the dryer after i my morning workout with my so i will not have to use my flatiron before i go to work.

Oooh, they look so tempting, don't they? I am not sure if they cause damage so I refuse to use them in my hair. They look like a disaster waiting to happen. I asked the girl at Sally's if they would damage my hair and she said, "Some say they pull the hair out, some say they are fine. I used them and they pulled some of my hair out." That was ALL I needed to hear to put them right back on the shelf. I say, if you are in doubt and you get no positive responses about these, throw them out or don't buy them. Now, if you have used them and you have no problems, that is another story.

this is what I read on the internet . at hairboutique.
There is a new innovation that I am particulaly fond of for creating today's "tossled looks" - they are called "VELCRO® ROLLER BALLS".

Now you can style your hair easily and quickly with these revolutionary round Velcro® Roller Balls that never need fastening.

Unlike conventional Velcro® rollers, these round ones are tangle-free by design. All Velcro® Roller Balls come with a special styling tips brochure from the manufacturer that is completely free!

Contrary to what some are told about velcro rollers, they are very easy to use. The key to using them safely is to make sure they are installed properly. They will stay put while drying and they will release from your hair without tangling. The velcro roller should be used like a brush to smooth the section that it will be placed in.

I like to start with dry hair and apply either mousse or volume spray to each section of hair I am about to wrap. Then I roll the roller to the head at a 45 degree angle (90 degrees would be straight out from the head so half lower than that).

When you are ready to remove the velcro rollers YOU MUST ROLL THEM OUT IN THE SAME DIRECTION YOU ROLLED THEM IN - DO NOT SLIDE THEM OUT LIKE OTHER ROLLERS. That is the common mistake people of who've tangled on velcro ran into.

Have fun - work with your hair - don't fight it!

Okay, IMO, I see a HUGE problem with velco rollers 'cause the velco will "grab" "catch" and "snap" at your hair strands as you put the rollers in and take them out, not matter how careful 'cause velco is suppose to "grab" things. This seems to be even worse than foam rollers. . .

For your hair's sake STAY FAR AWAY from these rollers

Girl, I tried velcro rollers one time and that was one of my biggest hair mistakes. I'm convinced that they contributed to me losing my past shoulder length hair (along with a bad relaxer and daily heat). I had to peel my hair off the rollers like you you peel lint off of velcro. I'm sure they caused all kinds of splits up the hair shafts. I took those things off and threw them right in the trash, and I haven't looked back since. I used it on wet hair at the time but I am not willing to try it on dry hair either. The velcro roller balls may be different but I'm way too scared to even consider them.
