Velcro rollers anyone?

I purchased some and used them on my hair last night after I shampooed, conditioned, and blowdried. I placed about 9 or 10 of them throughout my hair. My hair stuck onto them nicely. The problem came this morning when I was trying to get them off!

I lost a couple of strands trying to detach them!

Was it the way I rolled them up or what? Not to mention, it hurted trying to get them thangs out. But the good news is, my hair looks great! Nice, curly, and fluffy. I just shook it out, once all the rollers were out, rubbed some Hot 6 Oil throughout my hair and went on about my business. I'm at work and the curls haven't dropped out yet. I would really like to keep using them (I never get this look with sponge or magnetic rollers), but not if it'll take out more strands like it did this morning.

LOL!!! I bought some about 3 years ago and haven't used them since then. The same thing happened to me! Instead of trying them again, I just left them alone. Hopefully we will both get the answers we need. My old hairdresser used them on me and my hair looked so nice, but I don't recall seeing all of that hair left on the rollers when she got done.

girl...too much of your hair comes out...THEY ARE GREAT AT ACHIEVEING THAT SALON LOOK..AND YOUR HAIR IS NICELY ROLLED BUT TOO MUCH OF YOUR HAIR COMES OUT..I HAVE SOME I USE THEM ONLY ONLY..IN CASE OF EMERGENCIES WHEN I AM RUNNING LATE OR IF I JUST DONT HAVE THE TIME TO CURL MY HAIR... I CANT FRONT THEY DO DO A GREAT ROLLER SET ON DRY HAIR BUT BE PREPARED FOR SOME STRANDS OF YOUR HAIR COMING OUT... ITS ALMOST A 50-50 WITH THESE ROLLERS ITS LIKE GREAT BOUNCY CURLS..VS. A COUPLE STRANDS OF HAIR COMING OUT

You know? I've gotten 2 compliments and positive (

) stares in general. I'd hate to quit using them. Maybe I'll just use them once in a while, and go back to the spongies.

Have you tried the Caruso rollers? You can pop those in in the morning and take them out after about 5-10 minutes depending on the thickness of your hair. Curls from those will rival the velcro rollers. I have (had) both and the velcro rollers are history. And on top of that, the steam adds moisture to your hair.

I can't find them! I was looking for them and didn't see them, so I picked up a Remington set instead. Where'd you get yours?

Oh, and will the curls last? I have thick hair that usually looks like a mop by the end of the day (which is another reason I hate wearing it down), but the curls are still in right now!

God love you Karonica for posting this cause I looked a velcro rollers this past weekend and started to get then, then decided on magnetic. I also have Caruso curlers. I purchased mine at Sally's. They were on sale at the time for 25.00.

I've had these rollers for over 10 years. I can't remember where I got them from but I do remember getting extra rollers from Wal-Mart. And, yes, the curls are absolutely beautiful. Everytime I use them, I get compliments. They also soften the hair so that it feels good just to touch your hair. Which is why I don't use them that often and wear my hair up so I don't give in to my hand-in-hair addition.

I have not tried the Velcro rollers but I know when I tried the Caruso rollers I had a BUSH which was not cute. The steam/moisture was too much for my hair.

I tossed mine years ago Karonica because they got tangled up in my hair and I lost too many strands. I cant spare any of those!

GodMadeMePretty,

What is your hair type? I am a 4a/b and I was considering getting the caruso rollers. I am assumming that you only use it on dry hair. I appreciate any help you can give.

I don't like them that much and I think that they are damaging. I think I read that somewhere before too. For example with magnetic rollers your hair almost falls off the roller when it's completely dry but since the Velcro rollers stay in your hair without pins your hair will always snap when you take them out.

Yip. Today, I went back to my green magnetic rollers and though it's cute, it's just not the same as yesterday. Yesterday's were way fluffier. Perhaps, I'm going to try the bigger pink magnetic rollers and hopefully get a look close to that.
