I've been using S-curl and loving the softness it adds to my hair. However, I don't like the smell or the fact that it is chemically enhanced. I decided to make my own mix with Vegetable Glycerin and water.

I tried to do the 1 part VG and then 4 parts water to not have too much VG, but that didn't do anything. It just felt like I was spritzing water in my hair.

Are there any of you that use a lot more of the Vegetable Glycerin in your mix than most suggest, with good results?

I saw one member that uses half water and half Aloe Vera Juice, can I do half water half Vegetable Glycerin? I just want the same yummy results that my s-curl gives me w/o the icky smell and chemicals if possible. :lick:

If it matters, my hair is: 4a, coarse, thick, dense, partially relaxed (I'm transitioning). I live in TX which is a very humid state.
