I know some of you ladies likee to use this product for co washes, so I tried it, I found it very drying on my hair. Any suggestions, and does it depend on the kind I flavor/scent I used?
Maybe you used the wrong scent? Although they're all made by V05, the conditioners are still labeled for specific uses. For instance, the Kiwi/Lime one is supposed to be clarifying whereas the Pear/Mango or Strawberries and Cream ones are moisturizing.
The Fruitsation and the smoothing formula for curly hair (I think it's called So Smooth) made my hair feel coated and "unclean". They didn't detangle my hair very well, either. Try Kiwi-Lime, Strawberries & Cream, Creamy Citrus or Pina Colada. And don't be stingy with them--make sure your hair is well covered. For $.088 a bottle I don't hesitate to slather it on.
I used "VO5 conditioner/ moisture Soak", this was a BIG MISTAKE, my hair was dry I was so disapointed that my hair didn't respond very well. I'm not sure whether I had bought the correct one, it mentioned "hydates and moisturises for dry/damaged hair". I live in London, England, I can't find any of the scents, mentioned in the posts above. I went to Boots, Superdrugs and afro hair care shops, so far no luck
I used the moisturing/smoothing strawberries and cream and my scalp felt like ants were crawling in it. Other people rave about it but I dont think I will use it again. My hair also felt dry and I had a lot of shedding during the next wash.
Even though they smell good, VO5 is not particularly moisturizing enough to use for conditioner washes for ME. I don't find them as bad as Suave though. Although I prefer fruit scents to flowers, I like White Rain Passion Flower much, much better for inexpensive condition washes.
I use the Kiwi Lime squeeze ONLY for washing, and then only on my scalp. I use it this way about twice a week. When I first got it, I combed it all the way through my hair and it made it feel dry... As far as cheap conditioners go, I had better luck with Suave Tropical Coconut, though I stopped using it in favor of Elucence.
Hi, I found that the clarifying shampoo and conditioner made my hair real soft, but the other scents/flavors worked ok but not like the clarifying did. You may want to try the whole line...shampoo, conditioner, hot oil, vo5 conditioner hairdress.
I guess it is true what may work for some may not work for others. I used the strawberries and cream yesterday and i loved it. made my hair feel soft. i also used the vo5 split end conditioner. loving that too. i guess you have to find works for you. God bless you all.
