Anyone self relax with no-lye....but do not want texture leftover? How long do u leave yours on for? I currently get mine done at the salon and I use lye. But now i want to do it myself....but the last time I did it it was a lot of texture leftover in the back and i didn't like it at all.

any advice?

it's not really how long it's left on but more so smoothing. more smoothing and even comb it thru NG w/a fine tooth at the end before rinsing.

^^ohhhh i see! I definitely didn't do that when i tried no-lye. i think i just smoothed with my fingers.

i use no lye. i leave it on for the maximum for coarse hair. I only smooth once. I get it very straight (by my definition) but not bone straight. it probably does have a lot to do with the smoothing technique.

off the top of your head do u know how long? and what relaxer are u using now?

Do you have a sprush? It's the gold one. It is perfect for smoothing hair bone straight.

I use a sprush and fine tooth comb for the end.
I use Optimum no lye anti breakage relaxer, if i wasn't using that i'd use cream of nature no lye. i do section by section. 4 sections. I rinse after each section. allows me to take my time. for each section beginning to end is about 20 mins with smoothing.
