I think I may be on to something

. I washed my hair yesterday morning and applied my usual Keracare Leave-in (creamy) to my wet tresses and placed same into a bun. My hair looked so smooth (NO FLYAWAYS

) that I was impressed and not one strand strayed and poked me in the eye which is a daily recurrence.
This morning (of course, my hair is still slightly damp) I decided to nix my vive serum and applied a dime-size amount of Nexxus Ensure (that's all I could find b/c I was at my boyfriend's house) to my hair, combed it into a ponytail, twisted same into a bun and viola! My hair is so shiny and sleek you could probably ice skate on it

Quick question tho, is leaving conditioner on your hair protecting it from the harsh rays of the sun (and air)?

So that would be... like... a good thing? Please say yes, please say yes

Well, the ensure is an acidifying conditioner so I am not sure but the lady at JC Penny told me to put some headress on my hair before going out into the sun. She said to do it every day while on my vacation to protect my hair.

DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT use a conditioner WITHOUT smelling it first. I was using the ensure for about 3 days straight and when I was in the bathroom I began to smell something really nasty. I asked my daughter if she "let one loose"

and she said no but it stinks in her (she's 3). in any event, i pulled out my wizard odor neutralizer and sprayed. i smelled it again when i got home and said LORD NO, don't let it be my conditioner...

. Of course, I smelled the conditioner and P.U., i than smelled my hair and GOOD GRAVY i jumped in the shower right away.
Needless to say, I just picked up some V05!

I was using the Dove Moisturizing Conditioner as a leave in/hairdress about a month ago and I never had a problem with it turning stinky. I loved the way that it made my hair look and feel, but I had to stop using it as a leave-in because it was causing my scalp to itch.

I wish that I had been able to continue using it.

I use my nexxus humectress as a leave in along with the headress and I don't have the stinkies. But, I smell everything before I buy it - I can't do loud smells in the head. That ensure, is loud and grapefruity - it probably did stink something awful after three days. The humectress is mild as well as the headress.

[/ QUOTE ] Nita, I don't know why, but that phrase made me giggle.

But back on topic, I also use some conditioners as leave-ins too (and I agree about Nexxus Ensure's strong grapefruit smell

)
