Has anyone used a reconstructor for Cws, such as Keraphix, Affirm 5 in 1, St ives etc? Just curious...I may try it to see of if it delivers moisturising results as well as the strengthening aspect, i could also alternate between moisturising conditioners to ensure balance, what do you ladies think of this.

I have. I use Alfa Parf Real Cream Ph4 for co washes. It is labeled as a post-chemical services reconstructor. I like it better for co washes than shampoos. I haven't tried any others. I do find that my hair is not as dry as it would be had I shampoo'd prior to using, but it is not as moist as it would be with a moisturizing co wash. I think alternating is good. This is exactly what I do.

Hey den1,

I tried conditioner washing with Affirm 5 in 1 but succeeded in getting only hard hair. Unfortunately this is one product that did wonders when the hairdresser applied it but nothing for me at home. I did follow up with a moisturizing conditioner but still got mega tangles and breakage. HTH

I love Keraphix. I use it every other wash and have gotten great results. I think that it's important to have a goal in mind when using reconstructors.

For instance, a while back a friend recommended Joico K-Pac (which I want to try again). I didn't like the results. My hair was not any softer than usual, not any stronger, just not different, but my hair was not damaged at the time.

However, when I started using Keraphix, I specifically was looking for something to curtail shedding and this product did just that.

I have used Aphogee two minute reconstructor for this and it works nicely. I like the their two minute reconstructor.
Maybe you could try it.

I like the Aphogee reconstructor. It doesn't tangle like the rest of the conditioners. /images/graemlins/drunk.gif

I'm alternating with Keraphix and Bone Marrow every other day. I started this past Tues and will continue until my retouch which will be on the Oct. 30th. On Monday I plan on clarifying and using a stronger protein treatment then back to alternating with the Keraphix and Bone Marrow.

Wow thanks for the recommendations, i've used Aphogee two minute reconstructor before, but i switched when i heard of new brand names. As it is a light protein I'll use this and alternate between Nexxus Humectress.
