I think that if you're wearing a sew-in with your edges out then you must take care of your edges as you would without a sew-in. Shampoo and DC the edges as you normally would. With the weave hair you may want to try and use a diluted shampoo and conditioner to keep the hair nice and soft. For the hair weaved up underneath, again I would suggest that you use a diluted shampoo and a lite moisturizing conditioner that should be diluted as well. The best way to get up under that weave hair? Use a color applicator bottle, I have several; one for my diluted poo, another for my diluted conditioner and a third with my favorite oil concoction for oiling the scalp and hair up under the weave. HTH.
ITA I've been in a full sew in for the past 2 month (re-did it the 3 rd time yesterday) and I was co-washing every other day. My hair felt brilliant when I took it out. What I do is I put the DC conditoner in applicator bottle dilute it a bit so it flows easily and target my scalp/ hair area (on dry hair) I put on a shower cap and let sit for half an hour then rinse out, once a week I dilute ACV and use the applicator bottle then DC as above worked perfectly. It's freezing right now so I'm cutting the wash to once a week with DC and will put my moisture mix in an applicator and apply to my hair daily
I wash my hair and weave w/ diluted shampoo and do a final rinse with diluted conditioner to avoid buildup. I keep my weaves in about 2 months at a time and my hair is always moisturized and healthy afterwards
ladies I am getting my first full head weave installed next month *hopefully*. I have decided on the hairstyle but not the hair . This thread will definately help me so, so much. Ladies once again thanks.:blowkiss:
Definitely use the conditioner on your hair while in weaves. It makes my ng and hair underneath soft and healthy. I also dilute my shampoo and conditioner with a little water in an applicator bottle.
When I take my weaves down, my hair is always soft.
