I've updated my journal with November/December Natural/Straightened hair. And I have an album with my bad attempt at an Afro. I also have month by month comparison shots (I don't have June-Aug didn't take pictures then).

I think it might be the flash of the camera that makes my hair seem so shiny. My hair only looks like that right after I step out the shower and apply some leave in conditioner. After my hair starts to dry, it loses it's shine if I leave it in my natural state. But when I straighten, I apply pure shine (available at Walmart). That way I don't apply too many products.

you are my inspiration! my hair is about the same length as your hair was in 09/02 (my hair is relaxed). your hair has grown so nicely. it's thick and looks really healthy and it did not take long a all. it's gonna be down your back in no time.

Thank you everyone! It always takes other people to notice changes before you notice them too. I'll try to answer as many of the questions that I can:

I alternate between flat ironing and wearing it natural. The albums that are not locked are when I had relaxed hair. The album with me and my boyfriend the 2nd picture of us, I'm natural.

When I straighten, I wash, use a leave-in, apply wild growth hair oil, and I section into 8 sections. I put my hair in ponytails (think coolio w/o the braids). I then let my hair dry. I then start at each section and either flat iron or curl my hair (Depends if I want the straight bob look, or if I want curls). I then maintain my look by brushing with a paddle brush. I brush my hair back and tie down with a scarf.

When I used to be thinner, a lot of people said I looked like Tia and Tamera, but since my face has gotten fatter, I don't think I look too much like them anymore.

I'll probably do another post because I can't remember what everyone has said.

Oh, o.k,

I've blowdried and straightened my hair in a few of those pictures, but for most of the others, I did the snail (slow) technique of straightening my hair (see above post). I usually set aside a day devoted to my hair. Usually Saturday or Sunday. It takes a while, but my hair comes out so good, so it's worth it.
