Okay so I wore the sew in up until Friday night and then I took it down and comb thru it. Saturday I didn't go out the house so yesterday I relaxed using ORS extra super relaxer anyways this morning I have a big *** fro! THE RELAXER DIDN'T TAKE. so when I get home today I am going to braid my hair up.....SWEETPEADST u better be careful.

Thanks for the update... I was planning to stop using MTG for a week or more on either side before/after I relax. I do the same thing w/other topical "growth" products b/c they dont generally mix well w/relaxers...\

I Permed My Hair And Then Washed It And Everything I Then Blow Dried And Put Mtg In It Then I Pressed It Nothing Out Of The Ordinary Maybe Its The Perm I Usually Use Motions Regular

I dunno but maybe the oil is acting as a buffer, so it coats your hair and the relaxer can't penetrate the strands. Try not using it for a week or more and wash your hair before the relaxer

I am happy with the growth but dang! I am not going to relax again until september so I am going into another protective style. Thanks ladies I am loving the growth though I have to keep saying....

I agree. I think it may be acting like the stuff you use to base your scalp with to prevent burns.

I warned Sweettpeast about relaxing and mtg use. For some unknown reason, when I was relaxed, mtg seemed to take the perm out! I just read somewhere on the site that relaxers remove the sulfur from the hair. When you put it back in with mtg, it seems to "revert" quickly. That is why I'm transitioning to natural at this point in time. I hope I posted this right. Mahalilee...help!

Whoa!!! I used MTG the last time I think and the only thing I can say is that my relaxer burned a tad bit!!!!!! My perm took though and lasted all of a good 4 weeks!!! Then the MTG had it looking thick as h*ll!!

Sis your hair is looking long I love the length and thickness oh my gawd!!!! I think it looks good!! YOu are so close to armpit!!!! I am soooooooo jelly!! Oh yeah I have gotten so many comments on my hair!!

Yeah thanks ladies I see that MTG is the problem but its okay I love the length enough to keep using it. Sweet I seen your hair and it looks great you will bet so use to doing this style that is why I kept telling you to think simple you were making it more difficult than it is. It looks GOOD ON YOU! Im PROUD

Before my last touchup, I washed my hair and applied MTG 3-4 days before relaxing. My relaxer went as normal, except that the stylist could still smell the sulphur. She warned me about applying sulphur to my scalp before relaxing because it opens the pores and may cause burning. Next time I will stop applying MTG at least 10 days before the touch-up and do at least two washes before the touch-up.
