http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=167915&highlight=octoberI have an inch of hair in the middle of my head!:wallbash: I didn't know it until now because I'm braiding in individuals. It was obvious that I had some breakage at my crown- a repeat of October 06's BC. But I didn't know that my hair broke off to the new growth! The only time this happens is the change of Fall to Winter.

What am I going to do? I'm just going to leave it. I'm starting to get over the shoulder length hump and there's no turning back now.:nono:

How do you ladies keep your hair on your head? I don't remember this breakage happening when I was younger. Maybe I should go back to the salon on a regular basis. But how would I explain relaxing every 4 months with 4z hair? I feel like my hair was stronger when I went to the salon. Now that I know about protective styling I know how to grow it long.

I am still working on my crown breakage. This area needs the most attention from me.

Here is what I am doing:
  • Keeping my regimen simple. Wash and DC on Wednesdays and Sundays.
  • Protective styles no heat
  • Daily moisturizing
  • No hair elastics or damaging hair accessories
  • Emu oil and essential oil scalp massages 5-7 times per week
  • Exercise and healthy eating
  • Multi Vitamin, Iron, Silica, MSM, and EFA daily
  • Seamless comb
  • Satin scarf at night
  • Texlax with mild lye relaxer for 12-15 minutes every 12-14 weeks
  • Positive expectations
Good Luck

Thanks, Radianthealth (love the SN). I don't think I was doing a lot of manipulation. I could run my fingers through my hair and wonder where the breakage was, and now I see that it broke off to 1 inch, which is why I couldn't find it.:lachen::nono:

I wash on Sundays
Cowash on Wednesdays OR Tuesday and Thursday
Henna once a month.
I used heat in November for my birthday and then exactly a month later in December only b/c trying to braid thick newgrowth is not doable for me.
I always look a HAM wearing my hair up. Even Carusos look fuzzy, not frizzy, fuzzy.
Moisturize and seal with an Indian oil and cover with a scarf.

What am I doing wrong? Maybe I should start taking vits again and taking protein?:lick:
