forget about ur hair!!!!! dont worry about it so much..dont measure..just take care of it as in shampooing conditioning etc. and then leave it alone!! dont stress it. Also..extend ur relaxers longer...me, i extend mine to about every 3 months..trust me it works..whenever i get a touch up it seems as if my hair has grown so much....the more u stress over ur hair is the less it seems as if it is growing..its like watching grass grow..of course it gonna seem like ur hair never grows if u constantly watch and measure it..so let it be..nature wll take its course and the next thing u know u will wonder where all that growh came from!!

Hi Sunny!
Thanks for the info! To tell you the truth, I've never measured my hair before, I don't know how long/short it is...I wish I could extend my relaxers to 3 months...currently, I'm striving for 8 weeks. Hopefully, my hair can handle it!

Welcome Canadiana!

I haven't measured my hair either. I do extend my relaxers 3 months, 14 weeks this last time! I didn't believe I could do it beyond 8 weeks before the hair boards.

I enjoyed your hair albums and new pics, especially the "More Braidouts" album. I wanted to place a comment but it isn't set up for that. Your hair looks pretty and thick even though you relax often. What is your braidout regimen? I saw your pic with the braids - how did you do that?

I want to add that a positive loving attitude towards our hair is key as well as a healthy diet, drinking lots of water and regular exercise.

Thanks Isis!!!!!
I just changed the settings on my albums, so now people can leave comments. For my braidouts, I part my hair in sections, braid it, then clip it on top of my head. I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Leave-in conditioner and Kerasoft Curl Revitalizer, which is a brand that is sold at the salon I go to. I know a lot of ladies use setting lotion, but I'm afraid of putting too much products in my hair....

Soooo true...that's what I do. Wash, condition, massage and leave it alone. I'm almost 5 months post relaxer, and I'm planning a touch up for late July.

Thank you Canadiana for the info. I agree about not putting too many products in the hair, it can really weigh it down and affect the curls or waves. That's one of the secrets to longer hair also, not putting too much product on the hair.

This is also my motto. I don't want to stress about length this summer so I decided to get braids (and leave my hairline unbraided).
Believe me, it's always a pleasant surprise to see how much growth you've obtained after not worrying about it for so long.
