So you thought I had something negative to say... Well I wanted to tell all of you that you make black women look so good! I am so tired of every black woman on T.V with weaves and acting like they can't grow their hair or at least be patient until it grows to where they want it. Let's take for example Trina, what happened to her? She had that cute shoulder length wrap when she first came out and now look at her... a hot mess with that blonde and black weave. Now this is no offense to weave wearers but I am just so tired of black women taking time to throw in a weave when they should be throwing in some water and conditioner and maybe a vitamin or two, until the length they want is achieved..... So congrats to all of you sisters for making us look so good!

I think they wear weaves and stuff so that their real hair doesn't get damage after harsh styling and being under powerfully hot lights night after night.

Trudat...but some think they can't grow hair! what is brandys REAL hair like that has ALWAYS being a mystery to me...oh yea and mary j

I don't think we have seen Brandy's real hair since her Thea (sitcom) days.

I'm sure Mary J has come away from the weave wearing on a few occasions recently. If not, then she needs to give her hair a lil break.

You know I have to agree with ya'll. I was in a meeting the other day and noticed sisters with weaves, braids, etc. Now okay they could be giving their hair a break, or our they using fake hair as a substitute for their own? I know a sister been wearing braids since I've known her. I've seen her real hair, Maybe a 2C -3A at the most, loves her braids and keeps them in, but her own hair is thinning. They are lacking the education and knowledge to know what to do with their hair. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Just as I was...

Co-signing. Especially on the Trina point. To think about it, her hair looked really nice when she first came out. Jet black and healthy and now it's a HOT MESS. I once was an avid weave wearer, but I'm starting to appreciate my hair much more now. I kind of enjoy the challenge of "how long can I grew my hair"

i'm getting a sewn in weave today. i hope no one thinks that i'm doing it because i can't grow my own hair /images/graemlins/frown.gif
i'm using it as a protective style. i want to do a variation of the crown and glory method. i plan on keeping it in for a month, then giving it a two week break with a ponytale protective style. then i'm having it redone.

i'm taking extra care of my hair. i just put a mild motions oil relaxer in and i've been conditioning my hair so that it's ready for the weave. i'm still taking my vitamins too. i plan on following this method for a year. i also plan to only retouch every 2-3 months.

oh my i just realized somthing. i finally have a regimen in place /images/graemlins/blush.gif i've never been able to come up with a regimen to stick with before. this is cool /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Congrats Keylargo, I think the difference between you and them. I'm talking about regular people not TV personalities is that you know why your doing it and how to take care of it. Your not using it as a substitute for your real hair. I've seen sisters wear weaves forever and I don't think they were meant to be worn in that fashion. Just my opinion. /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

Always nice when your regimen falls into place /images/graemlins/smile.gif
