ARe there any NATURAL Kinky, Coily haired ladies that get straw sets? If so, do you ever experience any tangeling or matting?

I had a hard time getting a straw set out when I had a relaxed head, I couldn't imagine dealing with a straw set on my natural hair. It seem like it would be too difficult to wrap my hair around the straw, much less get my whole head done.

If you can get your roots straight they turn out really nice, that was my problem, my roots were poofy..

I have been curious about this myself. I have 4b type hair and I heard it COULD be done..but of course it wouldn't last as long and there were be tangling towards the end of the life of the hairdo....

The tangeling, yeah, that's what I was afraid of!

I got one done once, and it looked nothing like the picture they had; it was a mop of medium-size curls. It was a horribly long process that took 5+ hrs using jerri curl rollers. My hair is also fine, so it's naturally fluffy.

Hmm I got it done once in a salon. She used really short straws so it was way shorter than it should have been. I ended up trying to braid it to stretch it out (dumb) and that just ruined it.

I have done it on myself before partially--it was tough to manuever with all the straws though but I would try it again--a poster sent me some instructions. :)
