#1 Are members notified or can they see in their settings when someone has "thanked" them for a post?

What does the following mean under Bookmarks and what is the functionality?

#1 - There is no notification when you are thanked or when you thank. You can however see either of those if you go to your public profile:

and under Statistics you will see two relevant links.

#2 - They are all bookmark managers. For instance you can have an account in Delicious where you have all your bookmarks. Those bookmarks can be private or public. By just clicking that icon you are publishing that topic/post to your private/public area in your account with those services.
