Greetings all!

I put two new photos up in my photo album under "Home Pictures." They were taken this morning, after I did my conditioner wash. Half of it is pulled up in a ponytail and the rest is down.

I applied some Clairol Renewal 5X conditioner as a styling product as I do from time to time which keeps my hair moist and then I ran some Blue Magic Coconut Oil through it. It stays down really well and is still soft even now, 12 hours after I washed! I freshened it up every 3 or 4 hours with a few spritzes of Sebastian Titanium Protector Leave-In.

Check them out! By the way, forgive my sleepiness. My stylists don't live with me, otherwise I would look as incredible as I do in my other photos taken late at night. LOL! Some of them in my "Photo Shoots" album were taken as late as 3 in the morning.

Thanks!

WOWWW that's some georgous hair!

How often do you do the conditioning wash?

And, how long did it take you to grow your hair this long?

You look marvelous darling!!!

Thank you ever so much for the compliments! Like stated on another thread, I took some suggestions from this board and do the conditioner wash nearly every day. Every so often I skip a day when I'm busy or whatever but for the most part it's a daily thing. It's been about two-and-a-half years since I started out with some 3" curls, a haircut I had for many years.

How much growth do you think you get per month being a vegan and all?

I've been measuring my hair since I've been vegan, and I get a pretty decent 1" per month. I take a One-A-Day vitamin supplement on the daily and eat a lot of foods that are rich in minerals I usually miss out on from lack of dairy and meat products.

Hi, Lucky! I know I'm a little late, but welcome to the board!

Uck! Isn't it just like a man to have nicer hair than women! You probably hardly do a thing to it, too, huh?

You look to be in the 3 family. What gorgeous locks you have, Man!

Take care,

Peachtree,

Thanks for the compliments; I try to take the best care of my skin and hair as I can using quality routines and good products. In fact, now that I think about it, I may post my skin care regime on that other board.

Anyway depending on the weather tomorrow (because I don't want to waste all that extra time on it if the sky decides to explode with droplets) I may be able to post some pictures with it flat-ironed for comparison and comparison fun.

I'm going to check the weather now!

Re: Pictures

I also added another photograph for your enjoyment; it shows my length, but there's still significant hair shrinkage. I'd say it really only shows about 75% of my true length curly and maybe 60% of it straight.

How do I get my hair straight?

Hey all!
I am just writing to get some advice.
I permed my hair but it is not very straight, so when it get wet, it curls up,and or gets nappy.
I however cannot relax it over. But when I do go to the hairdresser, she uses the curling iron to straighten it out.
I know that heat is a no no, so I want to do the washing on weekends myself. Problem is I go to the gym everyday now,and it does get nappy. Can I please get some help.
I need to know what I can put in it when I rollerset it before I go under the dryer, to keep it straight.
Are there any products that would get it straight, without making it stiff?
I would also like to find out what I can put in it when I get back from the gym to stop it from remaining kinky, when it is wet, and not let it break.
PLEASE I NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET!!!!!
THANKS A LOT.

Everytime I look at your photos..I'm in love...with your curls that is

I especially like your natural curls. I can't wait to see a flat ironed pic...

Your curls are beautiful. I can't wait to reach that length and wear my hair more in the curly style.

Thanks! Unfortunately the weather is looking pretty cruddy so I won't be expending the time necessary to do it, but I will do so eventually.

Thanks again,
Lucky
