TWA with big forehead - Need Advice!

I was just looking at this thread and realized that I am not alone: http://blackgirllonghair.com/2010/05/i-want-to-transition-but-how-will-i-hide-my-big-forehead/

One thing that I still can't get used to as a natural is looking at my forehead :nono:. Just like the ladies in the thread, I too was teased when I was younger about my forehead. It's going to be awhile until my hair falls forward. Until then I do not know what to do. Wigs/weaves are not for me. Anyone have any tricks to minimizing their forehead? My hairline also recedes on both sides  so sometimes I fill-in my hairline with eyeliner.

Some foreheads are larger than others and some of the most BEAUTIFUL people in the world have big ones -- Rihanna, Tyra Banks...

The idea that a larger forehead is unappealing is rooted in childhood teasing that carries over into adulthood. Grown folks aren't really checking others foreheads like that. Don't worry about it.

I agree^^^^^. It's how confident you look and feel as well. Hold your head up high like a supermodel and be proud of all of you.

It may take a while to get use to but don't hide it or you'll always want to hide it. Embrace your new look.

It took years to build up my confidence after constant teasing from other children and the degrading words of my former step mother. But now that I'm older, forehead schmorhead. I'm cute.

I have a big forehead and a receding hairline in the front from wigs. I pretty much wear headbands to be able to hide it. When I had a twa the headbands helped when I felt self conscious.

Now that my hair is longer I cover my forehead with hair!

I think of it like snoring... I snore but it doesn't bother me. My husband laughs and jokes about it, but I sleep perfectly fine. Your forehead...well you only see it ONLY when you look in the mirror. It's not a health issue nor is it offensive. So who really has the problem...you or the people who may have a joke about it. Really. Think about it. No one can love YOU better than YOU.

Somehow I knew you ladies would turn this into an Oprah moment. Lol. I appreciate all of the encouragement. I generally don't mind showing part of my forehead but the WHOLE Sha-bam is a bit much.

leigh.hill - you could try minimising the effect using makeup, lots of tutes on YT for shadowing/contouring. This plus drawing in some fine hairs like you already do should make some difference. The ladies above don't lie, confidence is key.
