Trimming hair

i was thinking about getting a trim today but i am going to get a touch up around thanksgiving. Is it better to wait until after i get my touchup that way i can make sure all my damaged hair is cut off and my hair can be even or will i be ok getting one now?

I say wait. But if you really don't want to wait, I would flat iron the roots REALLY good so that you get an accurate, even trim. New growth is the devil when it comes to trims in my opinion. Lol.
