OK, so I know what they are...BUT, what's the advantage, if any, over micros? I said I was gonna try them, but now, I'm chickening out... dang it!!! Any insight?
FYI: got a perm 6/17/06. Got braids 9/5/05, took out end of Oct, rest for 2wks with deep moisturing conditioner, wore wig in between. Got back in 1st weekend in Nov, took out 1/7/06. Deep condition w/ press for next 3 wks. got a perm 1/28/06. Just got a trim and deep conditioner this Saturday.
Going to Jamaica for 4 days - don't like cornrows, and as this is business (I'm a PT travel agent), I've got to look professional, so I said I'd try these. Saw some picks, it looks like weave...
So, any suggestions? I have a good braidist who is African, but does not braid tightly. I can use either curly synthetic or yaki human.
How long do they last? I am trying to get my nape to grow. My hair is just a tad past my neck, but far from my shoulder blades - it "rest" in the shoulder.
Woman, I certainly do thank you for replying! I saw those pics...just trying to find out if they last as long as micros, if they stress the hair like micros, etc...
Invisible Braiding (also called Tree Braiding) - This popular cornrowed technique allows weaving hair to be put in without threads or glues. Weaved hair is braided in with the clients hair in cornrowed braid layers close to the scalp. At the braid goes in place, the weave hair is separated from the natural hair in small sections and pulled away from the braid in a close pattern. The natural hair ends up fully braided and serves as a support for the weaved hair.
Invisible braids are a great choice for anyone wanting to give their natural hair a break from chemicals. Invisible braids go in fast but do not last as long as more traditional braids. This particular type of braid will need to be redone more frequently. For this reason we recommend that synthetic hair be used for this type of braiding.
It is pretty long but her pictures where really detailed and they looked really good on her. You could PM her to see how long they lasted and how things went for her.
