I saw this on a business card for a braiding shop, and was wondering...I googled some pictures online,...the look kind of looks like a sew in...

Has anyone worn this as a protective style before? If so what were the results...did you experience a lot of growth or more so breakage? Were you able to wash and condition regularly?

Does anyone know the technique that is used to create this look?

Appreciate any info...I'm considering trying it out.

I use to wear tree braids and did not experience any breakage. This lady is the only person that braids my and my sister hair and we have know her for over 15 years. There was this one time that i got my whole head tree braided and did not like it because it was too much hair. I have thick hair and tree briads are for people with thin hair so that when their hair is braided it looks full. So the next time I got my hair braided, I only got tree braids on the outer 4-6 rolls of my hair and that came out much better because the hair wasn't as thick when I put it in a ponytail. You have to make sure that the person knows what they are doing when they tree braid. The techinque is that the braider braides your hair like normal but at a certain point at the top of your head they take a piece of hair out from one of the 3 strands that they braid with and leave that part free and unbraided and with the remaining 2 strands they make a third strand from the 2 to finish braiding. Does this make any sense. My apologies if I confused you.
