DDTA is what I used for shampoo/conditioner, leave in. I use ORS Replenishing Pak for deep conditioning and I switch between coconut oil and carrot oil for sealing. I guess when I'm fully natural I'll probably use more (like the Kinky Curly products I bought but haven't truly tried yet!!!!!!). Oh and I haven't used a protein treatment since earlier this year.

thanks Tasha! I am ordering the Elucence mbs&c. Which Lekair cholesterol did you use? Also, where can I purchase the Kids Organics shea butter lotion? Will pick up the Aubrey GPB at Wild Oats this weekend? How often did you use it and how long did you let it remain in your hair(w/ or w/o heat)?

thanks in advance

will pick up a packet of the Aussie moist from walmart. I purchased a packet of the 3mm conditioner this past weekend...haven't tried it yet though.

I don't use dryer heat with my deep treatments anymore--I found it was making my hair dry and hard. I use one of those gold mylar heating caps on top of a regular plastic cap. I mix the keraphix with moisturizing conditioners and olive oil and molasses (or honey). Using protein alone seems to tangle my hair worse than usual. I keep on a minimum of one hour, and a maximum of six hours (overnight).

I use the lekair strengthening formula (the pink tub) with olive oil as a pre-poo; The Kids Organics can be kind of tricky to find, but I found mine at an Asian beauty supply store...I use the Aubrey GPB once a month and leave it on for about 10-20 minutes without heat...I'm sure you'll love Elucence as many others here do!..good luck with your transition!

I use Biolage detangling solution on my natural hair. I can comb by hair more easily when wet with the Biolage.

the slip is amazing!

I am a past transitioner (from Oct 2004 - April 2005)

If I could have only 1 product, it would be my hair moisturizer... Luster's SCurl No Drip Formula!!! :D

As a transitioner I would say moisterizer, that can be anything from Olive Oil, to carrot and olive oil cream and parnevu t-tree leave in conditioner. Once that bad boy dries forget about it you need to moisterize!!

thanks ladies for your replies! Over the weekend I decided to get the BC next week(the 29th). The first time I transitioned it was by accident but this time around I wanted to get the BC out of the way & learn to deal w/my natural hair sooner. Wish me luck ladies!

Thanks again for your replies!

shampoo once a month I use nixion
conditioner ms keys
deep conditioner silicon mix
protein treatment none
hair moisturizer/oil(for scalp and/or hair)
MTG and I hate to admit this but sulfur 8. I usually use this the night before I wash.
Clarify: Apple cider vinegar

There are two things that I wish I would have used during the beginning of my transition...that's Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle Rose Moisturizing Conditioner...and Jojoba Oil (as a moisturizer). I only started using the AO conditioner near the end of my transition...but I know it would have made my entire transition a lot easier. I had a hard time finding a good conditioner that detangled well...and didn't dry my hair out down the road. It has great slip...it's thick...and unlike other conditioners that claim to be moisturizing...it actually is!

shampoo- cream of nature conditioning shampoo
conditioner - suave humectant, DDTA, Herbal Essences with Hawafena
deep conditioner - Suave 2 minute recovery
protein treatment - didn't use any
hair moisturizer/oil(for scalp and/or hair)- Shea butter

Herbal Essences Replenishing Conditioner for dry, damaged hair (as a leave in)
This stuff is a miracle. I keep scannig the ingredients looking for sodium hydroxide because this stuff makes my hair sooo silky!
