I am 9 weeks post and my hair is SO dry. In the front half My hair is super moisturized- it looks great but the back half (minus the edges) is SUPER dry.

The only thing that quenches my hair is WATER- everyday- thank goodness it doesn't shed.

A lot of the products I've used only last temporarily.

Any suggestions? I recently ordered some Qhemets products but do you have any suggestions until I receive my order.

Thanks- severely dry determined

African Royale Miracle Oil Moisturizer is my usual staple. But I have others I buy from time to time and they work good for me too:
  • All Ways Natural Instant Oil Moisturizer
  • Organics by Africa's Best Extra Virgin Olive Oil Moisturizing Growth Lotion
  • Silk Elements Revive & Restore Anti-Breakage Hair Repair Creme (I recently bought this for the first time at Sally's. I like it a lot.)

BTW - I know a lot of naturals used glycerin based products, usually in the form of curl activator. I tend to stay away from them because high amounts of glycerin don't work on my hair too well. But I still say try a curl activator because it may work for you just fine. S-Curl and Care Free Curl Gold tend to be two of the more popular activators among natural women. HTH.

I'm on a shea butter kick right now...a spritz of something watery topped w/ shea butter is my main moisturizer while I'm in twists

Vitapro fusion and BB cator oil lotion. I'm going to try QB sidr and heavy cream some time this year.

Qhemet Alma & Olive Heavy Cream is great. Also, you could try some natural butters from http://www.fromnaturewithlove.com. They have some all natural butters (Shea, Aloe, Cocoa, Avocado, Hemp Seed, Sweet Almond, Shealoe, etc.) that would be great for your hair. I have the Shealoe butter, and I really do like it. I plan to order more of the other butters once I come into some moolah :)

I have found that the longer I go into the transition, the more my hair like sprays as moisturizer. Right now I really love Pantene Relaxed and Natural Wrap and Set Spray and Notions Nourishing Leave-In Conditioner.
