Transitioners I need some suggestions please

Hey ladies, I'm fairly new to the board and I am so up and down about transitioning and I need some support. I could not find the Transitioners Thread that I saw a while ago so I decided to start a new one. I am 8 weeks post relaxer and I just need some advice on how to maintain my new growth because I don't want it to get unruly. I have 3a type hair which is in a bob length cut. My length is about an inch away from hitting my shoulders. It's similar to the bob style Christina Milian is wearing now. Anyway what I am going to do is grow out my relaxer by getting my ends trimmed until all of my hair is natural or I might do a BC. /images/graemlins/frown.gif I am scared to do that because I don't quite think I can pull that off. I'm going to post some pictures soon and maybe I can get y'all to give me an opinion on that. Anyway, if anybody can also send me some photos of different styles that I can wear my bob or maybe suggest some websites I can go to that show different ways to wear it I would really appreciate it. I'm not used to this length and I just want to wear it differently rather than the same ole flatironed under look. I know I practically wrote a book. I just have so much to say.

Hi music /images/graemlins/wave.gif

Coconut Oil works wonders for new growth. It helps with tangles... and keeping your new growth soft. Also conditioner washes help with keeping your new growth manageable.

If you haven't already...you should really check out http://www.nappturality.com A lot of the women there have albums with a variety of styles for both natural and transitioning hair.

I will bump a really good transitioning thread for you in a minute. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I agree with Erica (and not just because we share the same name /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Keeping your new growth moisturized is a key factor. Condition washes (I recommend Daily Defense Tender Apple) and leave in conditioners, maybe even a cream will help you with that.
Don't worry if you're not ready for the BC. Protective styles work well if you want to just trim slowly. I reccomend cornrows, individual braids, flat twists, 2 strand twists, buns, and other updos. All depends on what youc an do and what you hair texture will hold.

And be careaful with combing. Use a good detangling conditioner (again I recommend Daily Defense) and a good wide tooth comb or brush. I'm liking by Goody Brush. It's the Denman knockoff.

Wish you the best with your transitioning. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you for the good info and advice ladies. I will try that Daily Def. Tender Apple. It's worth a try. I am suffering slightly from pjism /images/graemlins/grin.gif but I think it is good to try new products because sometimes you need to switch up and it's good to know your options.

Yup and also that Daily Defense is $1! So don't worry if you don't like it. You haven't wasted much /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I'm transitioning too! /images/graemlins/cool.gif I would definitely recommend a k-cutter comb to help with detangling.
