TODAY I'M 1 YEAR'S POST 2ND BC

I made it, y'all. It was tough for me because I was going through a stressful situation. I didn't know how to do my hair and I looked rough. Wash n gos no longer looked good and I could not get my hair strait. I took time to look at U tube because I was going to relax. Then I found other naturals who were more thorough with their styling methods. I think I am getting better at styling. I just wish my hair would grow faster so I can finally have my natural bun! I am going to attempt protective styles for the whole upcoming year. I am working on a brand new regimen with no heat and less damaging hair coloring. I just want to be able to look good as my hair grows. I am trying to remain natural for another year. Hopefully this next upcoming year will be more positive. I will look for ways to make my ends m ore healthy. It's the only pet peeve I have about protective styling.

I never posted in that thread! I haven't had a chance to post any pics, yet. It seems the nape has grown more than the rest. I am no longer snipping off my ends anymore. I have almost shoulder length hair in some places and mid neck length in other places. After the holiday, I'll get the pics posted.

Question: If things are getting frustrating styling wise, could you go and get some braids installed to give yourself a break for awhile?

This is where some naturals go wrong. There are going to be times (probably many) where its just a hot mess, particularly when its an awkward length (mine was stuck at an awkward length for AGES). Its ok for hair to be a bit awkward for a time, it'll pass. You have to work through it (or hide it in protective styles) and wait for it to be over! Don't get caught up or bored and start messin wtih it

I'm sure that in another year or so your bun will be fab if you stick with it
