To those who band your hair…

Do you band your hair all the way to the end or do you stop just short?
Does it make a difference?
I just started banding my hair to stretch out my fro and I leave the ends out and was just wondering. I also don't want my ends to dry out.

I no longer band my hair, but when I did, I alternated between leaving the ends out and putting them in. I didn't have any problems with dryness either way

For me, I have to manipulate my hair too much if I twist it or braid it when I take it out if I am just stretching my hair. Banding my hair works better for me.
