She is 13 and does her own hair as far as styles. I wash her hair probably once or twice a month, I use the same products on hers, on mines..deep condition, and blow dry straight, jojoba oil. Very simple
Good lord if I let her hair air dry it turns into a big nappy fro that you can't get a finger thru, just like mine was. Everyone hates to do her hair. She usually wears her hair in cute styles with ponytails.
I won't allow her to get a relaxer or wear corn braids. I finally got her in the habit of wearing a scarf every night. I also make her leave it alon. Like probably only style it ever other day.
crml_buttafly said:why wont you let her wear her hair in corn rows??? just curious
sylver2 said:It breaks her hair. Thats why I myself have never ever worn braids or will wear them. When she was younger I relented and had her hair braided, it grew but it had a lot of broken pieces and seemed fragile. Now that she hasn't worn them in a couple of years, her hair is looking healthy again.
braids may work for others, not us..lol

My dd's has a lot of breakage in the cornrows too. But doing her hair every other day won't work for me.
