I think your ends look a little stringy. Maybe you should do a little cut...Your hair will still be on your back, but I think in order for it to grow healthier, you should cut a little...
Are you planning on protective styling? Would it be easier to do protective styles if you kept the length? That would be the only reason why I would not cut.
Cutting your hair does not make the rest of it magically grow healthier.
ETA: OP I actually think this may be a case of your shorter hairs needing to catch up with the longer ones so that you have more thickness. I wouldn't cut right now. I'd protective style and focus on retention and in a few months reassess.

I'm sorry, I was just giving advice. I was just saying that given that she keeps up her hair regimen and continues to take care of her hair, then it will continue to grow. I never said that it would grow magically healthier.
me too. I had HORRIFIC deep layers cut into my hair and the last time i straightened my hair it looked deathly thin. I thought i was balding or something was seriously wrong. About six months later, I straightened my hair again and its back to it's old self. I realized that the longer layers had grown way down my back, while the deep layers that were cut from behind my ears up were MUCH shorter than the back (nape) which was way down my back. Now that the "middle" hair has "caught" up to the bottom layer hair, when it's down it's full. I hope this makes sense. I say trim a little, because the hair looks a little damaged, but i think braids, kinky twists and lots of moisturization for a while will help get you back on track.[/b]
I Agree with this.
