Thoughts on deep conditioning for 24 hours

Hi. One long to a natural hair FB group and a few mentioned that they do a 24 hour session of deep conditioning. This seems like a recipe for mold/fungus. Has anyone here done this??

I can say NOT letting my hair dry properly between washes in curly weaves has cause a slightly smell. I quit wearing curly weaves after that.

I don’t know about mold for leaving in deep conditioners for 24hrs but having hair waterlogged for so long can cause issues.
