Those who use coconut oil

I buy Spectrums Natural unrefined (brown jar) at Whole Foods grocery store. It's solid but melts easily between the palms.

I plan on trying coconut oil in the near future. I also recommend Almond oil. It's the LIGHTEST oil I ever tried (I've also tried jojoba and evoo in the past). It's light enough for the face and really doesn't leave that greasy/oily look behind.

I have Spectrum brand coconut oil that I got from a health food store. I've also had coconut oil from cedervale.net. Both of mine have been liquid. In fact, the kind from cedarvale.net comes in a bottle. But then again, it's so hot where I live...

I've seen it at wal-mart, but I still have some, which I purchased at a health food store.

I got the Parachute brand at an Indian grocer. I like it a lot; it smells yummy! It's solid when cooler, liquid when room temp.

That's what I have.

Isnt the refined suposed to have lost most of its beneficial properties through the heating process?

Pressncurl,
do u know if that brand is refined or unrefined? I have some too but Im not sure, It does smell like coconut though so maybe its unrefined....

I was just about to post rave reviews about coconut oil. Thank goodness for Search. I purchased Pro-Line's coconut oil over the weekend to seal my ends following a touch up. I love this stuff. My hair feels so soft and moist. I think I finally found my cure for dry ends. It's not greasy either. My hair absorbs it quickly and the BF can't stop sniffing my hair, either.

I made my own a couple of weeks. I boiled a can of Goya coconut milk and separated the oil from the milk fat. I use it on the ends of my hair at night.

d'oh!! mine just arrived from PP today....and the box was all greasy!!!! i guess it melted
