This time last year

I had a super thick, healthy 9-inches of hair. I had retained 5" of growth, and I was so happy. I thought, "Long, glorious, beautiful hair, here I come" /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, a full year, and many hair dramas later, I have retained 3-inches, but loss so much volume. My hair is longer, thinner, and kinda stringy. /images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have never, never had thin hair, and I don't like it. I'm thinking of transitioning w/o the BC. I don't know how to wear my hair now. I can't wear braids, my hair is too week. I been practicing healthy hair techniques for 2 years, but I don't know what is happening?

Ladies, what do you think??

Have you thought about a good trim/cut?

A long time ago, my hair was in the same shape. What I did was use all Fantasia IC products, esp. the leave in conditioner w/Aloe. After I wash and moisturized I'd put it back in a bun. I did that for 10 months and my hair was thick again.

You could try that or you may need to cut it.

HTH!

I had problems with a stylist. Fired her.

Then I had problems my thyroid. During this period I had a full baggie of hair come out in a month. Long strands where on my shoulders, in my wide tooth comb, and on the bathroom floor. I checked the strands for a white bulb, there was none so I thought, it must be breaking close to the scalp. Went to the doctor, got my thyroid under control.

I even went to a dermotologist and got shampoo, ointment, and even scalp injections. (Total waste of time and money)

Now my hair still seems weak. I have tried Nexxus Emergencee, Aphogee, lots of moisturizers, but nothing has helped. It started last December on the 5th, after my last relaxer of the year.

I'm thinking natural hair may help the situation.

Are you under stress?. It can cause your hair to fall out. B-vitamins complex is good for that, also Brewers yeast. I know that always had a problem of breaking hair, my hair would be thick, then it would break, then it would grow back again. I started to take B-vitamins and that helped me. I am really sorry to hear about your troubles. Have you ever been natural before and maybe you should give your hair a break from any form of chemical treatment. I remember about ten years ago, my hair was very fine and I had to change my diet, started to take wheatgerm oil, Vitamin E, etc also drinking things like Seaweed tea, also I started using treatments like Castor and Avocado Oil Pre shampoo
2 tablespoons avocado oil
1 tablespoon castor oil
1 teaspoon rum
2 eggs
whisk ingredients together and massage into your hair and scalp leave on for 20 minutes, cover with a hot towel or a plastic cap and Shampoo and condition in the same way.
or Try Egg and Olive oil pre-shampoo conditioner
2 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon of cider vinegar
1 egg yolk, whisk ingredients and leave on for up to 40 minutes, then shampoo, also using castor oil mixed with flaxseed oil and olive oil and a pre-treatment.
Also try this Healthy hair cocktail
1 and a half pints (850 ml) skimmed milk
8 tablespoons of plain yoghurt
a quarter pint (140 ml) cucumber juice (fresh)
1 large banana or a handful of strawberries
2 eggs
2 tablespoons wheatgerm flakes
2 tablespoons dried powdered milk
1 tablespoon wheatgerm oil
1 tablespoon of lecithin
2 tablespoons of ex-virgin olive oil
6 dessicated-liver tablets (crushed)
2 multi-vitamin and mineral tablets (crushed)
1000 mg Vitamin C (in tablet form crushed)
Place ingredients in liquidizer or blender and blend until smooth and drink one cupful three times a day, one in the morning, one at midday and one in the evening. You should notice an improvement within months.

I hope that helps you. Anymore questions please pm me.

That sounds like a good idea, diamondlady. Going natural for a year or so will definetly make your hair more stronger against breakage. Sometimes doing alot of extra things to your hair can make it break. Unecessary treatments and products. Also, i've learned that scalp massages really do make your hair so much better.

Thanks for all the advice. I think going natural would be best for my hair. I just can't figure out what to do to my hair in the mean time.

I'm not under any stress. I have been under stress in the past and never lost hair. I haven't been natural in years but I have always thick hair. I remember my natural hair would never stay straight. It would rise on my head in the dew. I could smell wet hair just walking across the parking lot in the mornings going to work. Pressing my thick hair was a nightmare and it would not last very long.

I felt it HAD TO BE relaxed. But in order to keep it on my head, I'm willing to try natural again.
