I just managed after about 4 tries at 2am to cornrow my hair with extensions:look:

I can't cornrow to save my life. Seriously looked like doo doo lay on my head they were so butchered. But I remembered the instruction in the braids by breslin DVD and was like f*** this you are NOT going to give up. I did NOT want to have to make a phone call and get a relative to cornrow up my head so I could put this weave on.

But I have 2 complete cornrows on MY head done by ME!!!

They lay flat and beautifully. Then I'm gonna stitch in this Yaki. I haven't worn a weave in 8 years and NEVER done it myself. I figure if I can make my twists look like they do in my siggy then the weave better be on point. :perplexed And I WILL post pics of the finished result because it's not my hurr and will be covered. :)

But I'm so happy I don't feel hair retarded now considering I can braid, twist, colour, cut, relax, locs up my own hair. :D

Sorry for all those that think this is a stoopid thread. But you don't know how happy I am I feel like calling my mum and telling her.

I CAN CORNROW MAMA. I CAN CORNROOOOOOOOOOOOW :lachen:

One more thing those teefin beyotches in the salon can never tek from me.

That rocks. I can't cornrow either one of my goals is to learn to this year.

Do you have those Breslin videos? If so what did you think? I'm on her mailing list and have been eyeing getting myself a couple of them for my birthday.

It always feels good to accomplish a hair related feat, especially when it makes you more independent.:D

I'm happy for ya:). I can't cornrow either but you say theres a tape to learn? I say it 'bout time I learn. Post pics when your done....if your arms aren't too tired to hold the camera.
 
Not stooopid at ALL. I retrained myself how to cornbraid once an SO grew his hair out and was going to his daughter's mom for braids. The thought of him sitting between her thighs.....!!!! Nuff said!

I retrained myself.

We're over but the skill still comes in handy.

I meant to tell you this for the longest time.... Your siggy pic is so pretty you look like a model!

And my brother friend is IN LOVE with you and thinks you are so gorgeous! He seen your siggy pic once and since then he's been begging me to hook him up..... and he's already got a girlfriend:lol: Triflin'

Everytime he comes over he's like "did you talk to her for me yet" and then he's like "give her my phone number so we can meet up" lol I never did tell him ur in London:lachen:

congrats!!!

The Braids by Breslin cornrow dvd helped me out a lot so I can feel ya' on that one. Before I saw her dvd my cornrow technique was a mess. I couldn't make a straight part to save my life!!
 
Congrats to you!!! I am retarded with it comes to braiding my own hair, so I dont think I will be trying that anytime soon.
 
I still can't cornrow or french braid (or are they one and the same? See what I mean?), so maybe there's still some hope for me yet.

Congratulation on your new 'skill'...LOL.
 
Wow, CONGRATS! I too am in the "cornrow challenged" club. I guess I just need to practice one of these days.

Shoot, you're on your way to becoming a full-fledged stylist, LD!:D

:lachen::lachen:I learned how to french braid also because of my fiance. He grew his hair out and didn't want to pay to get it done every 2 weeks. Now I wish I didn't know how, I could care less if another female braids his hair as long as I don't have to:)

Thanks for all of the congrats.

The cornrows turned out great, but I tried the weave and OMG it turned out so bad. Plus I had some head claustraphobia, so I went to the BLACK (not the Indian) the BLACK BSS today :D to buy some more hair and I'm putting in my beloved kinky twists tomorrow. The kinky's in all honesty compliment me a lot better, plus I can get to my scalp a lot easier.

Well at least I managed to cornrow successfully :lachen:
