 THIS IS WHAT I'M LEFT WITH AFTER A HORRIBLE VISIT TO MY REPLACEMENT STYLIST(my sister was pregnant then died after having the baby so I had someone else who i thought i could trust do my hair!)
I am not sure where to start. The lady really damaged my hair. MY hair was CHIN LENGTH Well longer than that really and HEALTHY. I wouldn't mind HEALTHY short hair.......But this is what she left me with.

:S Yeah, my hair is pretty damaged!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS on what i should use??? I want long growing healthy hair!! And I want my edges and lower back hair replaced!! I can't even waer my natural hair now!! this really is a pain!!

Wow, they would have to take my butt to jail for beating that stylist.

The damage has been done...the most important thing to do now is give your hair plenty of TLC.

I'd reccomend lots of deep conditioning, and moisturize moisturize moisturize! Definately try to stretch your next relaxer for as long as possible, to give your hair time to recover.

I know the other ladies here will have alot of advice for you...and don't worry, your hair will grow back.

And I'm sorry about your sister. :(

So sorry to hear about your sister.

Regarding your hair... what's your regime? What's your diet like? What caused your hair to break off?

Ms Allyse
First and foremost, I am sorry to here about you sister. I know what it is like to go through something like that because I lost my brother.I'm also sorry about your hair. My sugestion would be to get a wig or a half wig , just for a few weeks so that your hair can come back in the back. ASfter that I would find a new sylist but take your time . If you lived in NJ I would be happy to nurse your hair back to health. Until then just potect, moisterise, and condition.
HTH

Yeah I agree with WC (moisturize as much as possible and DC often). That stylist's license should be revoked, seriously! Once you get the hang of it and get a regimen going and get your staple products, your hair will be healthy and growing back in due time. I would start off getting a good shampoo, protein conditioner, moisturizer, some carrier oils (carrot oil, EVOO, ect...), and a reconstructer. Oh and protect your hair as much as possible!

Sorry to hear about your sister.

I am so very sorry for your loss. *hugs*

I'm not certain what your stylist did to damage your hair so severely - and she does deserve a butt-whipping. Was it relaxer? Color? Did she give any explanation for why your hair broke off so badly? Is she licensed? Stuff like this really makes me angry, and I'm sorry you had to endure this on top of all the other things you are going through.

In any case, I really think that you'd be best served starting over completely. Your back has broken to the scalp and your edges are thin; the remaining hair looks fragile and broken. You have a beautiful face. My honest opinion would be to cut it to a twa and leave relaxers alone for awhile. Get your natural hair working, perhaps when it has grown out enough, put braids in to give an additional rest. In the meantime, research stylists or soak up the knowledge here on how to style your own hair. Then, if you want to go back to relaxing, you'd be able to do so from a base of healthy hair and healthy hair practices.

I don't have a regime. My sister always did my hair and i trusted the lady to do my hair and this is what I'm left with!! She glued in my hair(when my sister does it no hair is loss) and she put SO much glue in my hair it took it ALL out. She's just HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. :-( My diet?? Hmmmmm I eat what I can!! I'm in college!! But i'm moving into an apartment so I will be able to eat like I need too instead of what is in the cafeteria!! Also what do you mean by stretch out my perM??

Stretching out your perm means not perming your hair so soon (i.e 5,6,7 weeks) after you've gotten one. If I were you I would wait about 10-12 weeks before getting another perm.

I think the glue took my hair out and she did color my hair previously. But my hair was doing ok while I had the coloring in it. Which i was wearing it naturally then. THEN i wanted lenght for my graduation pciture and THAT is when she pulled ALL my hair out!! I am not sure at all which products to use. I live in SOUTH WEST ga all people know about here are QUICK WEAVES AND BIG ASS HAIR. They aren't into CARING for hair at all. That's why my sister always worked in ATL/TALLAHSSEE florida she did more natural styles and took CARE of hair.........Oh and yes she is licensed....:S

I am sooooo sorry for you. I really don't have any advice, except to get a wig and moisturize your hair EVERYDAY.

I'm very sorry for your loss. However there is a lot of good help here and I'm sure you will be able to get your hair back in tip top shape soon.

My first peice of advice is to start doing your hair yourself. In the roughly 1 year period since I've been on here I've mastered relaxing my own hair, doing my own color (henna), doing my own trims, rollersetting, etc. Not being dependent on stylists has dramatically transformed the health, condition and length of my haiir.

Here are a few links to threads that will help you on your way when it comes to starting out, making a regimen, what vitamins to use and whatnot.

There is so much information on this site that is very easy to get overwhelmed very quickly. Be consistent don't try to do every single thing that is mentioned on here or you will go crazy, use the search, and ask whenever you can't find the answer to a question. I'm excited for your progress which I know will come.

My suggestions:
  • Diet: protein and calcium
  • Protective: TWA and/or wig
  • Moisture: deep conditioning treatments

Ms. Allyse:

I am sorry about your sister.

But, I am speechless about your hair. I would be devastated and put a wig on immediately untill my hair grew out.

Thanx so much everyone!! What is TWA?? and I do want to learn how to take care of my OWN hair. It was easy when i had someone(my sis)doing it for me. I had NO worries in the world. Never thought i'd have to depend on myself!! What is henna by the way??? IS that better coloring or something?? What products would be best for me to use???I want to get started RIGHT away. would it be horrible for me to wait six months for my next perm(until july) my last perm was roughly 4 weeks ago.

Oh, I'm very devastated. You don't even understand HOW this makes me feel. Going from lovely healthy hair to THIS..........Very depressing. Then dealing with my sister/fathers death its all very overwhelming. But i have my mom/brother/neice and nephew(my sisters two babies) so we're making it!

I'm so sorry about your loss. The ladies have already given you good advice. (((((HUGS))))) Time and patience will have you back on track in no time.

A TWA is a teeny weeny afro. I think you will be amazed at how your hair will change when you start doing it yourself without being dependent on a stylist who may or may not know what your hair needs the most. Henna is a natural powder that comes from a plant. It provides hair with superior strength, conditioning shine and color. It's the same thing that is used on hands and feet in henna tattoos. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/showthread.php?t=87256&highlight=henna. That thread has a lot of good information on henna, however it is very long. Like I said there is almost TOO much information on this and you might want to do everything at once. First start off getting a really good solid regimen in place and then branch out from there.

a TWA is a Teeny Weeny Afro, like what i have in my siggy. Henna is a stain that you put on your hair to change the color, BUT it also has other benefits, such as it is not as harsh as perm/semi perm hair coloring. I can't help you with the products b/c i barely know myself.

Thanx alot!! Does any one have any suggestions on the Regimen I should follow and the products?? As i said i am completely clueless and i've heard so much stuff from vitamins to this and that!!

WOW. Are you serious?? Something just told me to post that and see what someone comes up with even though I wasn't expecting anyone here to know anyone that stayed in the buttcrack of GA:lachen:

Wow, i give you credit for being brave enough to post your photos. I am sorry that you are needing to deal with this issue amongst other things. Definitely baby baby baby your hair. NO COLOR, NO GLUE IN WEAVES, Maybe start conditioning washing and doing wash and go's if possible. Also, don't know if you perm or not but keep that to a minimum.

I'm am very sorry about your loss. {{{hugs}}}

Get yourself a fly haircut, and baby your hair. Like the other ladies said moisture, Moisture and more MOISTURE!

Sorry to hear about your sister. You have gotten some great advice so far and this forum will help you get back on track. I think that you should start off with a nice haircut. Then keep your hair moisturized, deep condition 1-2 times a week, limit direct heat, give yourself daily scalp massages and focus on any problem areas you have. When you figure out a regimen, stay on top of it and you will see results! :)

First and foremost, I'm sorry for the loss of your sister. Having to deal with this on top of your loss must be horrible.

I would just shave your hair off and start from scratch. Look at Poohbear and Ekomba's hair for inspiration. Your hair will grow in no time and it will be nice and healthy.

What regimen should I start with though?? I don't know anything about ANY products....I want to begin but I don't know where to begin. I'm hearing deep condition wash and all things like this but what products??

I'm truly sorry to hear about what you're going through and about your sister. I see you have already gotten a lot of great advice, and I believe if you start giving your hair lots of TLC; it should be back to being healthy and long. You can always try the growth aids to help you along, and try lots of protective styling. Good luck:)
