I twisted my hair last night to do a CW, right. I used VO5 Kiwi Lime Squeeze and then Elasta QP Intense conditioner. Afterwards I put in Sebastion Potion #9 in and went to bed. When I woke up this morning, my hair felt like straw, even after I put on Mango Butter and Coconut Oil! I'm like WTF!!!! So I had to basically put on a lot more of the mango and coconut oils and retwist. Is this normal???? It must be the Potion #9. Thats all I can figure. Has this ever happened to anybody before?

do you think it might be too much protein with the instant conditioner (V05),elasta qp intense conditioner, sebastian potion 9, and mango butter?

Potion number 9 will leave your hair hard if you saturate your hair with it. It's a leave-in that you need to use very sparingly. A little goes a long way.

Thanks. I didn't know that. I did use a lot. That seems strange too though but ...oh well. I know next time!! :)

I suspect its the Elasta product, my sister used the exact product and which unfortunately resulted in a hard, dry tangly texture. Rewash with a good shampoo and use moisturizing conditioner and use good moisturizer/oil to lock in moisture.

It might be that you used too many products @ once. I would try clarifying and using a deep condish and maybe some butter and that's it and see what happens-the potion # 9 and/or product buildup might be the culprit.

i think you used too many products in your hair... that's why you may be experiencing that straw-like feeling...

It's the Potion #9. I only use 2 quarter size squeezes for my entire head and I have thick, dense, amrpit length hair. That product is gel and leave-in in 1.

I didn't know it was a gel and a leave in! Yeah..that is prob. it. I know I don't have build up and I have used 2 diff conditioners before with no problems so it must be ole sebastion.
