THICK AND STRAIGHT?? Is it Possible???

Let me start off by saying my hair is naturally thick both strand and how it all comes together. The major problem I have had is that every stylist I have went to have made it their job to make my hair stick straight. I do not know whhhhhyyyyy but they all do this. When I was using nolye I had a stylist use a blowdryer and a flat iron on my head and go over sections multiple times. And if they do blowouts they go over spots over and over again. I do not understand this obsession. It is not my hair that is the problem so supplements arent necssary.

Since I have been using affirm lye regular my hair is not as thick as it used to be. I was looking to use affirm lye mild but I have never used a mild relaxer in my life. I am at a lost. What am I to do to keep some of the thickness of my hair yet get it to be straight. What lye relaxer could possibly do this for me??

BTW: I have used motions and revlon and both sucked for me.
God bless you all.

I think I have pretty thick hair but the volume is still there evern after relaxing... Affirm has been great to me. Sensitive Scalp regular is what I use ....maybe try mild

Also, how do you maintain your hair? Rollersetting has worked for me and don't blow out the roots. Just wrap your hair afterwards, that's been working for me the last few weeks. I find the blower and the flat iron really flatten my hair (too much for me)

same here ccd. I use Affirm lye reg. and whenever I touchup, I just follow w. a rollerset and wrap. Works great for me.

I use Affirm Lye Mild and I'm also able to maintain body, straightness and thickness (my natural hair isn't as thick as yours though). I don't like for my hair to be bone straight. The regular formula would be to straight, since I self relax and it takes me longer to apply than a stylist.

See I keep wondering if maybe the regular is too strong for me. The stylist even said your hair isnt as thick as it was when you first came to me. When I first came to her I had underprocessed lye hair and no lye hair still going on. My hair was thick as all get out. My hair thickness was never an issue. If my hair looked thin before it was simply because I used too much products.

I am just wondering if I can find a lye that doesnt rob me of my thickness. This affirm has my hair too straight and I dont like it at all. I had the regular put in because my stylist thought it would do the trick. as I am sitting here I am slowly getting more and more angry. This is extremely frustrating. I keep hitting these damn bumps.

I cant find a relaxer that will keep my thickness like a no lye but give me the sleekness of a lye. I cant find a stylist that wont use direct heat on my head or listen. I know its just hair but this on top of everything has me just feeling overwhelmed. God bless you all.

Yeah, you may want to try the Mild formula, actually I think Affirm regular is also too strong for me, that's why I use the Mild. I hope all works out for.
