The best shampoo for ladies with color in their hair, IMO, has to be the John Frieda line!!!
As of yesterday I crossed over to the blonde side… or at least my highlights did (sorry no pics yet), and I was trying to find a line of products that are intended for ladies with color in their hair, and that would really work. I remembered all those “Sheer Blonde” commercials and how good these ladies’ hair looked, despite them being Caucasian, and I picked up some of John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Highlight Activating Moisturizing Shampoo.
I’m not the best product reviewer, but I can tell you that this shampoo is worth $6.00!! Formulated for honey to caramel shades of blonde hair, I picked it up because this particular shampoo helps restore blonde highlights and adds gloss to the highlights since it is enhanced with natural caramel, honey, and wheat germ extracts. Seeing as though I have blonde and copper highlights, I figured that this shampoo could already help my preexisting highlights as well!
Last night as I began to shampoo my hair, I started off with a quarter size amount of this shampoo. Normally, I use a few quarter size amounts of shampoo for my hair, however, once I started lathering the front of my hair, I noticed that this shampoo lathered up like some thick relaxer. I started lathering my hairline and noticed that the shampoo still hadn’t dissipated so I moved towards the middle. The shampoo was still holding strong. So then I started lathering the back and my ends. Do you know that small amount of shampoo lathered my whole head??!?!! It was that thick! This came as a shock to me because I normally have to use serveral squirts of shampoo to lather my whole head and ends. Also, for the first time ever, I detangled SUCCESSFULLY with a shampoo!!! Due to the fact that this shampoo was so thick and lathered up really thick I was able to detangle without a hitch!
As for when I rinsed the shampoo out of my hair, which I honestly didn’t want to do, my hair was so soft and detangled… something that normally takes a while to happen. I added some Daily Defense Tender Apple conditioner to my hair (courtesy of Labett…thanks girl ) and noticed there was no need for me to detangle because I could run my fingers and comb through my hair without any problems! As of right now I can’t comment on how glossy my hair looked after the shampoo because I lathered up with conditioner immediately after, however, due to the fact that it detangled my hair and left it soft and silky feeling before any kind of shampoo, that alone is enough for me!
This shampoo is a keeper! I’m going to go back to the store to buy the conditioner because if the shampoo is this good, then the moisturizing conditioner must be off the chain!
Also, even if you’re not a blonde, I recommend trying the line for red heads or brunettes.
