Thermasmooth review w/pix. DD and I!

All right here we go...sorry it took so long these kids are buggin' right now!

Yesterday I used all four products on dd's half relaxed, half natural hair. Her hair is much thicker and courser than mine. So this is a good sample of different hair textures. She is twelve and we cut almost nine inches off. My EX mother in law, ATTEMPTED, to relax her hair while she was visiting her a couple of months back (insert past pissed off smiley here)...well I'm still married to DH, but because of this she is NO LONGER my mother in law  That's another post...I digress.

On my hair I used parts 2 and 3 and I haven't texlaxed since 2/15. I will not be using part one (shampoo) on her hair anymore because it has Sodium Hydroxide and we are growing her back to natural.

Anyway...Thermasmooth ROCKS!!!

  Ok. I don't have words so..:notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :yep:

   !!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE to get this!!!!!!

Question: Do you have to buy the poo and con? I'm happy with the ones I have. Can I just use the serum or spray that comes with it?

They do come in individual bottles, I did not use the shampoo or part 4 in my hair, but did in dd's hair, part 4 is what gave her incredible shine. But I knew it would be too much for my hair (her hair is "heavier" than mine).

Let us know what you try and how it works!

Thanks for all the compliments from dd and I!

Those of you who try it again or try for the first time...you know we wanna see pix! So have that camera ready when you do it :Flahsssss :Flahsssss No excuses...:p

How do you use thermasmmoth? Do you have to use all 4 products and blowdry/flat iron? Great job on the hair, BTW.:yep:

Erm.....

Could we have a blow by blow detail of how you got your's and your dd hair looking sooooo fly.

I need something for my newly texlax hair, and this might be it!!!!!

You and your DD's hair turned out beautifully!

Your DD is the same age as my DD and I'm transitioning her now. Can I get kind of a step-by-step, please? Unfortunately for my DD, her mom is kind of "hair retarded".

Pixel Lady, both your hair and your DD's hair look fantastic! I would also like details on the steps you took, as I am trying to stretch/transition, and this may be helpful for me! Thanks!

This system is really great. Balisi (my hair stylist) used it on my hair this past Wednesday since I'm worried about how my hair responds to the heat in Atlanta straight and it's been holding up really nicely. Granted I'm not in Atlanta right now but the weather in Michigan is a little more humid and has been rainy the whole weekend and my ponytail is still looking good.

The pics in my siggy were taken the day she did my hair after I walked from the salon to the train station in the heat and after my train ride home.

Ok, Im really slow...I had this stuff already, it was just stashed away. I thought it sounded familiar  . I might try it this week. FYI try emailing mizani and asking for a sample, they sent me the whole kit free of charge! Granted, it was when it first came out several months back, but it doesnt hurt to try.

Oh my goodness this looks like just what my dd needs for her hair i would love for her to wear her hair straight but she has i believe 3c 4 something hair i went to there website i will be picking this product

STEP 1: THERMASMOOTH SHAMPOO

Apply approximately 1 ounce of conditioning shampoo to wet hair. Work into lather for 1 to 2 minutes to cleansing the scalp and hair. Rinse hair thoroughly with tepid water. Repeat shampooing process and again rinse hair thoroughly with tepid water.

STEP 2: THERMASMOOTH CONDITIONER
Towel-Blot hair to reduce water dilution of ThermaSmooth Conditioner. Gently massage a liberal amount of conditioner into the hair and scalp then comb conditioner through hair with a wide tooth comb. Place client under dryer with processing cap for 7 to 10 minutes to ensure penetration of the fortifying Ceramide Technology which helps preserves the hairs elasticity. Rinse hair thoroughly with tepid water for 1 to 2 minutes then turn the water temperature to cool and rinse through the head once.

STEP 3: THERMASMOOTH SMOOTH GUARD SMOOTHING SERUM
Towel-Dry hair, then evenly distribute Smooth Guard serum throughout the base of the strands to the ends of the hair. Section and secure hair with clips for control. Blow-dry hair with tool of choice, which will infuse the hair with more C3 Smoothing Complex. For thick or coarser hair, if necessary USE more Smooth Guard serum after hair is dry prior to thermal straightening.

STEP 4: THERMASMOOTH SHINE EXTEND ANTI-HUMIDITY SPRITZ
Slightly spray through entire head of hair with Shine Extend then straighten with Ceramic Flat Iron (Tourmaline Technology). If more Shine Extend is needed, spray each section of hair before straightening with the ceramic flat iron. Start in the nape area and take sections according to the hair density and type and begin thermal smoothing with ceramic flat iron, until the entire head has been straightened.

FREQUENTLY ASKED STYLIST QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A REGULAR PRESS AND CURL AND THE THERMASMOOTH SYSTEM?
Regular press and curl services generally focus on the straightening of hair with pressing oils and tremendous heat . The oils can smother the hair strand causing the hair to be left with minimal movement and a weight bearing oily finish. The hair most often has limited if any thermal protection leaving the hair strand open to excessive heat damage and breakage.

Using the MIZANI ThermaSmooth thermal straightening system service gives the hair the best opportunity for conditioning, strengthening, and protection starting from the first step of the system. The hair is left smoother and shinier with weightless healthy body and flexible movement. The hair looks and feels better than ever!

CAN MIZANI THERMASMOOTH BE USED ON RELAXED HAIR?
Yes, ThermaSmooth is an excellent product for relaxed, colour treated or transitioning hair. ThermaSmooth is the first synergistic thermal straightening system formulated with Advanced C3 Smoothing Complex, which provides the hair with technically advanced heat protection. Advanced C3 Complex is infused with Co-co nut oils for nourishment, ceramides for strengthening and cationic polymers which add protection and shine.

WILL THIS LAST LONGER THAN MY STANDARD PRESS AND CURL SERVICE?
Stylist and client testimonies share that their straight styles are lasting much longer when using the ThermaSmooth System than with the traditional press and curl service. Most state that their style is without frizz and reversion for about 2 weeks or until shampooed! With the added benefits of Advance C3 Complex, the hair’s natural elasticity is not compromised which allows a healthy transition from curly to straight look without the concern of over-straightening over time.

ARE THERE HUMIDITY RESISTANCE AGENTS WITHIN THE SYSTEM?
The Mizani exclusive C3 Complex is formulated throughout the thermal straightening system giving the hair optimal conditioning, strengthening and protection from heat. The cationic polymers and silicones provide humidity resistant properties to allow for a long lasting frizz free smooth style.

WHAT EXACTLY DOES THE MIZANI SMOOTH GUARD DO TO THE HAIR?
The serum acts as a facilitator during the straightening process. Mizani Smooth Guard encourages the cuticle layers of the hair to close tightly and allows the thermal tools to slide smoothly on the hair, while protecting the hair from heat damage and inducing a high gloss shine.

Where are the pictures? I wanna see!

I can see the pictures...however they are kinda slow to load on my work  computer.

Wow ladies, I didn't realize people had asked for details. When I get off I will post a more detailed account! Forgive me I will start a thread and once I leave for that day I may never enter it again...unless I see it on one of the first few pages, when I log on again. I figure its old news :perplexed

OK I see 2 pictures, one with neck length and one with slightly longer hair. Are those the two pictures? Which one is your daughter's? They look like salon results. THanks

BUMP FOR KITAMITA!

I still feel the same way about, it helps my dd (thick, coarse, but soft) stretch for 20 weeks with no breakage! We use it from week 12-20. The first time I used it, I used to much her hair was pretty but lacked body (which we both LOVE). Now I have it down so it looks GREAT and has BODY!

Hope this helps!!

I soooo needed to see this thread. I flat ironed the other day. I'm two months post texlax and my hair lasted about an hour before it was a frizzed/reverted mess.

I can never get a salon result anymore!

Off to purchase thermasmooth......

Sent from my iPhone while out living my best life!

Wow, I'm so glad I read this thread!! I'm relaxed and did a 16 week stretch. I was contemplating transitioning, but dealing with the two textures was too much for me so I got my hair relaxed. I think I may try again with thermasmooth. Thanks so much OP!!!

Beautiful pics btw!
