Girl, bye. You are my hair idol. Your hair is perfect and so nice and thick. I wish my hair was as long as yours and THICK as yours.

Did I say I admire the thickness. Sooo, what's the problem?

Go on and keep up the good work!

I really like them .. I wish my big twists looked this good . And im saying this with complete honesty ... I like em

I love your twists! The thickness and texture look great. Big twists just need a little more structure than smaller ones. Play with pinning them into different shapes, then later on you can go for a twist out.

Girl Stop!

Your twist out is going to be FAB!

When I do bigger twists (so I can get it done fast)...mine look like that....I do mine smaller so I can wear them for a week or so....But they look fine...Not convenient for styling purposes, but the twist outs with bigger juicy twists look awesome....

Okay....I don't know how long you've been twisting...But it takes time...The 1st few tries are never your favorite....But I remember the day I got it right (cause I didn't give up)....O..M..G!

I have been hooked every since...Now that they're longer, I do small ones and wear different styles like updo's etc....

Girl u tripping.........aint NOTHING wrong with them twists
&& with your texture type.....they would look bomb in a twist-out IMO

They look good to me. All nice and thick and shiney!!! I don't know what you want them to do???? This is how my hair looks when I twist it up.

Were you planning on wearing them out?
No really, but if theyhad come out nicer I would have. I was mostly aiming for a beautiful twist out.
I did do a twistout, but I think I used too much product and they came out a little tacky, I will post pics after work.

co signing with everyone else, if you want them more uniformed next time just make them smaller. As for tightness gently grab the hair tighter. Don't use as much product it looks fine and would be a lovely twistout.

At the bolded, I think thats another mistake I made, TOOO much product. I used a leave-in and a gel at the same time. Way too much. I will keep this in mind.

Girl, please!!! They look really good! I'd put those bad boys in an updo and keep it moving! And I think your twistout would look great!

lmao i came in here expecting to see a picture of my twists. just keep practicing. i started off with ugly, tore up wormy lookin twists, and now they are starting to look normal.

:lachen: Okay...Or mine!!! She need her behind whipped :sandm: for starting this thread. At least she can do twist. Mine do it's own twist out, so I don't even bother.

ITA! Are you "new" to wearing and doing twists? Once you get used to doing them and seeing them on you, your feelings will change.........:yep:
Thanks. Yes I am fairly new to twists. I have done them maybe 4-5 times, its the first time since my hair has gotten longer.

And they are on my head...done by me. I really need help to learn how to do this, this is ridiculous AND SO NOT PRETTY!

i have tried making them smaller, using different products etc but still cant get it right. someone please point me in the direction of some good tuts.

Take a close look at that last pic. There is a twist there that doesnt even resemble a twist, seriously ladies take a close look!

So the title was just to get us to click on the thread - right. :) They look fine. I'm sure enough ppl have posted that already. The only thing I'd point out is in the back you seem to miss twisting one of the "skeins" of hair before you twist both together. We can see it coz we are looking at a blown up pic but no one is going to see this in real time. If you want them to be smaller then take them apart and make two out of each one.

Like everyone else here, I think the twists look fine, though I think I can understand why you're not happy with them.

Are you parting your hair when you twist it or just taking random sections? I think if you part your hair into neat little boxes, your twists might look a little neater. Plus, if you are trying to reduce puffiness near your scalp, you could twirl each section of hair before you start twisting it. Either that, or you could braid the first half inch of hair or so, then start twisting. I saw a girl whose twists were done like that and it looked really nice.

If you're doing twists that you want to wear a couple weeks or so, you might want to do them a little smaller and add just a little extra product (gel, or whatever you're twisting with) to the ends, comb or brush it through, and then twirl them around your finger. Once the twists are all done, you can hop in the shower and let let the water run down your head. You can shake your hair to rid of the excess, but don't towel it dry because they'll frizz! Drape a towel over your shoulders and let it drip dry. This should make the twists lie down and give them a more uniform appearance.

HTH!!

They look lovely and juicy to me but they are the size of perhaps a set, not a style to wear. As the other ladies have said, just do them smaller ie for every one of your twists you could probably do 5.

I love fat twists!!! They resemble those nubian twists that sistas pay $180 and up to get and we can do it on our own hair. U may want to part next time for fat box twists or part in triangle form.

I've seen worse on my own head. I don't like big twists, either. If you don't like them, next time just make them smaller.
