You are right a few years ago there was an issue over my clothes. I wear alot of suits to work. They showed alittle attitude when I receive a compliment from someone.

LThomas, given their reaction to your hair and clothes, these women would not be happy with any of your successes. Oprah talked about this...about "friends" who would say "Who does she thing she is?! Hmph!" with every achievement she attained.

Fortunately, she learned to distinguish those who supported her from those who continually brought her down.

It's so sad that these 2 ladies are envious of you...and your hair! When people see something they want...they tend to try to find something wrong with it (ex saying they know people with longer hair.) Don't be surprised if they start camping out in front of your house, and following you to the beauty store...so that they can scope out what you are buying.

Ithomas1, I'm jealous of your hair, too, LOL! I think it's beautiful and it's sad that your "friends" couldn't just admit it and ask for advice if they wanted it. If you still want them as friends, you should demand an apology and tell them you won't tolerate that kind of behavior from them again, friends don't tear each other down that way. People do make mistakes and need to be called on it so they can become better people. But if they keep doing it to you, I wouild definitely say DROP "EM!!!

Call me mean but I would have fun with this one. I would give your 'friends' plenty of hair growing advice.
1. Rub Blue magic hair grease into your scalp twice a day.
2. Trim the ends lightly once a week to promote growth
3. Only wash your hair once a month.

And I would keep a straight face when telling them this. When they ask 'are you sure this works?' Toss your hair around and say very arrogantly 'what do you think!!!!'

Just an update. I spoke to the two sisters yesterday and told them how I felt about our whole conversation. I just thought their comments were very negative and I was not going to allow them to insult me and get away with it. They did not feel they said anything wrong and told me that I was tripping. I told them that I did not feel it would be beneficial for us to continue the friendship and I was not interested in going to the beauty shop with either one of them. It was funny because they told one of my other friends about our conversation and he told them they were both ignorant and did not blame me for cutting them off. They have been rude to him in the past. I am just glad the flock of bald eagles are gone.

I saw your picture and your hair is beautiful with a lot of body. It's a shame that they couldn't be happy for you. If they were more supportive I'm sure that you would have given them some tips. The way you described them they sure can use some but it was their loss and look what they missed out!

Because some girls are too lazy to take care of their hair, people always hate on others who do care fore their hair. Instead of compliments they are always hating. I hate that!!! When I got my relaxer and my hair was like 4 inches longer, they wanna say it grew alot. Then when they ask for suggestions and I tell them something out of the normal with them like dont put grease in it, then they wanna catch an attitude. People frustrate me!

Now, about the nappy comments. Keep in mind ladies that there are women with nappy hair who get hating comments from women with relaxed hair all the time. It has happened to me. Haters come in all types, nappy and relaxed.

Jessy55, you are absolutely right. Personally I have seen very nice relaxed and natural styles. I am hoping to transition in the future myself.
