The PJ in Me is Finally Dead After 20+ Years!!!

I am so happy to not be a slave to my pjism. My heart no longer races when I walk into Ulta, Sephora, etc. I can walk down the hair aisle in any store and leave empty handed.

I no longer hide hair products in the guest bath, attic, garage or desk drawers :look:.

You can actually see the top of my bathroom vanity area now!!

I have found all my HG products and I don't bother with anything else.

All of my stashes are about 95% depleted with a few conditioners and shampoos being used as shaving cream.

My staples are finally set. I use TJ Nourish Spa to cowash a couple of times a week and diluted as my leave in. I alternate TJ Tea Tree and Mint with my Silk Dreams DCs once a week. Once every 4-6 weeks, I do AO GPB.

I shampoo as needed with my Chagrin Valley hair bar.

I use grapeseed, argan, or ricebran oils on my hair followed by clear Ecostyler gel on my 3B/3C hair, airdrying 100% of the time.

Yea, I'm just about there as well. I've locked in what works, and have less and less interest in picking up new products. My last PJ mission was to find a great curl cream/gel, and I have two now! I think there's just a small handful of products that I want to try, and then I'm done as well.

I used to come in here and jump on so many bandwagons after reading about a new product or technique :nono:

I'm very happy to be done with that!!

This was me too. Now I'm right back where I started with my washing and dc'ing using keracare products:yep:. I hate I ever strayed, who knows how much progress I could have made.

This is how I am with conditioners now. It's weird, because now when I go down the hair care aisle I no longer even want to pick up different conditioners b/c I know I have something amazing already. I've got my HG conditioner now; Infusium 23 Moisture Replenisher. My hair looooves it (and the Repair & Renew is awesome, too) and I am surprised that not that many ppl here or on youtube use it. I rarely hear reviews on the actual conditoners, mostly the leave-ins. Their deep treatment is awesome, too. My HG oil is safflower oil, I've had that on lock for a while though. When I add some to the I23MR it is amaaazing.

I have 2 staple shampoos (Aussie Moist and Garnier Fructis Pure Clean for clarifying) but I still will pick up different shampoos to try from time to time lol. Same with serum and gel. I'm workin on it :3

Congrats, OP!

The final step for me was finally getting a TJ store in my area. I've always liked Nourish Spa but I had to use other products in my rotation since it wasn't readily available.

Now I can use it all the time (co wash, conditioner and leave in) and I've kicked everything else to the curb.

I am there for the most part, but I like trying co-wash conditioners. I know I will keep trying different co-wash conditioners, rotating them with my TJ TTTT staple.

I was a PJ for only two yeas, but that was enough! My oldest DD and I counted our conditioners last fall and we had over 70!!! We've been only using our stash since then (well, I made a few purchases that were nearly free with coupons) and I've given away many bottles we never got around to trying.

After we deplete the stash, I'll just start buying the gallons of Giovanni conditioners and stick with them. I stopped DCing regularly nearly a year ago and haven't noticed any ill-effects. My hair is just as healthy and I've retained beautifully with simply co-washing and sealing with oils. 99% of all the stuff I've bought was completely unnecessary...

It was fun while it lasted, though :giggle:

I too have my staple products and no longer have the urge to jump on bandwagons or try new products just because everyone raves about how great they are. After reaching year 4 of my my natural hair journey, I now know which products works for me and I am sticking to the regimen. I will say, I have my eyes and ears open to see the hair care product line from Kimmaytube. I want to see the ingredient list more than anything else in her products.

My biggest weakness when it comes to shopping for products is leave-in conditioners. My last two leave-in staples were either discontinued or re-formulated (for the worse). And for some reason, a good leave-in is the hardest product for me to find.

I've found tons of awesome products in every other category (shampoos, rinse out conditioners, deep conditioners, oils, shine sprays, etc.) except that one. Very frustrating. I just purchased a new leave-in today. Maybe this will be the one... :)

The term PJ may be relative. I never had e.g. 70 conditioners but I was always on the look out for new products. I'd say I'm over that now and keep things simple. I have 2-3 shampoos and conditioners that I rotate. Other than that I use coconut oil and a few other kitchen and herbal treatments. That's about it.

Thank God, me also! After years of so much money spent, I have a regimen that I will not change. Yes the products I use are pricey but it's better than spending thousands on trial and error!

I'm almost there! I just made a list yesterday of my hg's. Now I'm just working on my stash and not buying anything else unless it's needed. I just hope when I finally get my stash down I don't freak out and buy more stuff lol. I got a ways to go before that happens.

I think I finally found all the products that I need. My cleansing conditioner is Hair One, my DC and Eden Bodyworks Jojoba and Monoi, my leave in is Giovanni, and flat ironing products are Tresseme and Isoplus. And I have my homemade sealant and refresher spray for the week.

I havent bought shampoo or conditioner in 3 years.

I'm still using stuff that I bought over 5 years ago! SMH
