The lady who did my hair cuts her hair 2x a year

I went to the JC Penny salon and got my hair washed and set by the same lady who did my sisters relaxer monday and she cuts her hair twice a year!!. I couldn't believe it. Her hair was about 3 inches past bra strap length and looked so good. I was so jealous

That's funny you should mention it but one of my friends has been wearing braids for a few years and she only cuts her hair once a year. It's natural and with shrinkage it's past her shoulders and pressed out it is past bra strap length. Her hair grows best if she does nothing to it....she washes/or I help her wash her hair about once every three months with Cream of Nature Shampoo and then deep condtion and then comb it out with a leave in. After that she gets it braided while still damp. She does do anything to it while it is braided except tie it up at night. Her hair grows so fast that it will probably be waist length by the end of the year.

If I did this I would be bald. Funny how things work for some folks.

No offense to your friend, but yuck /images/graemlins/barf.gif My hair would be so nasty and filthy if I only washed it once every 3 months. But hey it's working for her, huh!

Yeah it is funny how some things work for some folks and not others. Actually I'm leaning closer and closer to not getting my trim in a few weeks and waiting another 12 weeks. Between this and the trim/cut horror stories I'm actually starting to have nightmares (no lie /images/graemlins/frown.gif) and I just can't be this stressed about my hair.

LOL! I take it those posts gave you the "heebie-jeebies". /images/graemlins/ill.gif

She's lucky to be able to go that long. I don't trim mine much often either mainly because I have a good shape to my hair and I don't suffer from splits.

She told me that she gets a miziani relaxer every 6-8 weeks and washes twice a week. Sher said she deep conditions and jsut leaves it tied up. She uses heat once every week and thats it.

i also trim mine once or twice a year. when i wore it down, i got split ends alot more. since i wear protective styles 90% of the time, my ends are almost always protected. so there's no need for the trims.

i personally think that most stylists trim WAY more than is necessary!!! /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

That sounds great. I personally believe in just trimming to clean the hair but to constantly cut the hair you will never see any growth...I guess I'm good for cutting. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
