The Jane Carter Solution

Has anyone tried this line? My stylist uses some of the products - particularly the foaming setting lotion and the nurish and shine. I love both of these products and I am interested in getting the shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately, I cannot get a list of all the ingridients in the shampoo and conditioner. If anyone has used her stuff, I would love to hear what you think. The setting lotion works so well and it smells WONDERFUL

Thanks Peacelove
Her stuff really looks interesting. This year I'm going to get very good products for my hair.

She gives good advice regarding hair growth. Maybe now I can trick myself into exercising... /images/graemlins/crazy.gif

One of my hair care buddies sent me a nice size sample of the NOURISH & SHINE. The label indicates it can be used on hair and/or skin. The smell is awesome. I mainly use it on my skin since I already have a moisturizer for my hair that I'm happy with. I did try it on my hair once when I first received it. It gave my hair a very nice shine and a wonderful smell (which everyone thought was great and wanted to know what smelled so good).

Peacelove,

This sounds like a really nice natural product that I wouldn't mind using to alternate between shampoos. I too would be interested in the ingredients.

hi. i've been buyiing her love her shea butter & leave-in moisturizing conditioner for three years. her shop is located in plainfield, nj, right around the corner from my sister's house. my sister's roommate & family have been going to jane for years. my sister went for a year, but she didn't like jane's way of doing hair. jane's cousin claire (no longer there) was better, so my sister goes to jane's house directly to get her hair done right around the corner! we still drop by the shop to purchase products. the two i mentioned are must haves and i use the shea butter all over! my sister said that janes relaxer was damaging to her beautiful, thick hair, so beware of it! claire nursed it back to health, though.

Thanks for posting this. These products sound Yummy!! And very nourishing for the hair and scalp.

Ebony, where in Plainfield is her shop? I'm only a few minutes away from Plainfield and would love to visit her shop and take a look at her products.

i don't have her exact address. since i've been going for so long i've never bothered to look at the street signs. for now, i can tell you she's right off 22 near the BJ's & Sears in Plainfield. Her spot is called Ethnicare Hair Spa, 908-755-1218. I think she's off North Ave maybe, but she is 5 minutes from the Sears, if that. For anyone who cannot get her products, call her salon & they can tell you where u can get them. I cannot say enough how the shea butter is The Bomb. The smell is all that /images/graemlins/laugh.gif. I don't use it for my hair as much as for my body. My sister & I have noticed that the container has gotten smaller over the years while the price is jacking up /images/graemlins/confused.gif! Like I said before, beware of her relaxers /images/graemlins/shocked.gif!

A stylist put this crap in my hair a week b4 my last relaxer (I was 8 wks post) and it made my hair as hard as a brick. My hair broke off into many pieces EVERY time I touched it until I washed that crap out. It took several hot oil treatments and deep conditionings to restore my hair. I was sooooo pissed!

Just thought I'd give you the heads up. And wanted to rant a little. lol.

ETA: It was the setting lotion she put in my hair.

I found the Nutrient Replenishing Conditioner VERY VERY VERY moisturizing and gave the BEST slip.

It is parabean free but it does contain Diazolidinyl Urea

Those are the only 2 products worth using on her line. I purchase everything on the line and was not impressed and would not recommend the line to anyone. Being the PJer that I am I have tried my share of products if I had my choice I would take Carol’s Daughter over Jane Carter any day.

do these products contain parabens / SLS etc or are they natural?

Some of her products contain parabens, some do not.

ETA: I think...but I'm not sure...that her leave in conditioner contains parabens, but her nourishing cream does not.
