The Incredible Balding Temples.

Okay, I've had the baby but now I'm going bald at my temples. Anyone have any advice to give besides just giving it time?

Sorry to laugh, but you made it sound like a title of a film. Congrats on giving birth. What have you tried on your temples so far?

I would moisturize them in the morning and at night.

There are quite a few topics on this you can search. There is even a nape and edges area challenge for the coming year.

Rosemary and Nettle essential oils are stimulating. They improve blood circulation and oxygen. You can buy it at a Whole Foods store and all you need to do is add 5 to 6 DROPS to an already existing oil. I have Rosemary oil that I add to my almond oil/ avocado oil mix.

That's an excellent idea. Thanks!

That may be the problem. If you are agitating that area a lot and it is dry you could be causing part of the problem.

I would be careful with the Rosemary and being aroung the newborn.

Even putting some simple conditioner there in the morning and evening with a little water and/or jojoba oil or some other oil should help some.

Hi Christelyn,

Congrats on your baby! I had the exact same issue when I had DD ( she is now 2). It was so discouraging and I could not wear my hair up. I used castor oil, and an MN mixture and my sides filled in nicely. I starting using castor oil to lay my sides down, and massaging MN mixed with olive, coconut, jojoba, and peppermint oil and my sides are now thicker than they ever were before.

I'm not sure why it was just the temple area that was affected with me too, but it does balance itself out with time. Gotta love those post-partum hormones. I wish you the best and hope this also works for you if you try it.

The only thing that I have proved to work for ME is the Growth Specific Revitalizing Hair Balm. It grew back my temples and my nape too. :yep:

Hopefully you can see the difference in the pic. This is an older shot...you should see my edges today!!!

I've had thinning temples my whole life, even before a perm ever met my hair! My dermatologist was very "oh well, genetics..blah blah vlah about it" im using Mega-Tek and baby hairs are coming in!

I need to buy some Mega Tek then because mine is genetic. My mom has BSL hair but VERY LITTLE hair there. Mine is thinning and I hate it. I can wear ponytails but if I part my temples and finger comb it to the front you can really tell. I'm bunning and only use a bobby pin to hold it so I'm hoping that will help. No more rubber bands or any bands to hold my hair for a while.

Castor oil!! Applied nightly to the hair and scalp of that area. I would dampen with my spray bottle (water), put a little conditioner on the hair, then seal with castor oil. I really believe it helped grow my edges and nape back.

Those are from January to September of this year. 9 months of growth. I think castor oil helps to make a healthy environment for hair growth due to its natural antifungal properties. It also softens the hair and seals moisture into the hair/scalp.

Good luck OP! Those edges will be back to normal in no time, I hope! :)

Same thing is happening to me, it started just last month, plus I am breast feeding which makes it even worst. I put castor oil on my edges. And I am using garlic conditioning treatments, to stop/slow down the shedding. Lord knows it really did help. (TMI ahead) I had found some hair in my butt after taking a shower. And that really freak me out. And when I checked the mirror I saw that some hair on my left temple was gone. I am also going start taking garlic pills.

I went through the same issue with my temples after the birth of my son. I just rode it out without trying any remedies, but now that I'm pregnant again (and my edges are finally halfway decent), my plan is to give myself regular scalp massages to stimulate optimum blood flow to my scalp. I bought myself a scalp massager called the Tingler, and I use it before bed a few times a week. It's relaxing, too.

I have never really had thick hair around the edges, imma try everything I can. I still have a little MTG left imma try that until its gone.
I want it to be full and thick around the edges......
