I saw this today. I wont be buying the high priced stuff anymore. The ingredients are the same. Anyone use these? The lady that works there said it felt the same as the real thing. Why shouldn't it? Its has the same ingredients. They had joico, redken, paul mitchell, sebatian, matrix...

I have the generic Paul Mitchell The Detangler and Nexxus Aloe Rid from Sally's. Now, I haven't used the real versions of either to compare (I'm incredibly frugal), but I love both.

The Detangler left my 4b natural hair soft and with great slip! I was sooo excited when i was able to comb my hair out with little effort (comparatively speaking). The Aloe Rid worked equally as well IMO. After I used it, my cheepy VO5 cond. seemed even more moisturizing.

I prefer Nexxus Humectrus to the generic brands. Other than that the few I've tried have been OK.

good thread

I've been trying to work up the courage to try one of these too. I noticed that the ingredients were the same, but i am still skeptical about the quality and proportions of the generic brand.

I haven't tried anything from the generic line personally, but i just thought to share the thought :spinning:

I use the Paul Mitchell (GVP) conditioning mousse and the skinny serum and love them both! No other mousse will ever touch my hair. I love the fact that it does not turn white and flacky...nothing like looking like you have dried snot in the front of your head!

lmao..........

I'm curious about this too.

Someone posted forever ago that this line is full of some sodium-something that will eventually "burn" your hair.

Any thoughts or couter info on this?

I hope it's okay to use. I've been meaning to try it as I've used the real deal in the past. If it's the same....I may be savin' some green pretty soon.

I've used the generic Paul Mitchell Detangler & The Conditioner. I have also used the generic Nexxus Humectrus. I love the all. I have not used the "real" The Conditioner. But the other generic products are just as good as the real thing to me.

i LOVE this line!!!

my staples are:

- the "super skinny serum" (paul mitchell knockoff).
- the "k pak reconstructor" (joico knockoff) <- i love this more than i love nexxus keraphix! smells JUST like coconut cream pie.

i like:
- the moisturizing conditioner (nexxus humectress knockoff). i like it better than the original as a leave-in, and it smells better than the original in my opinion.
- the tea tree conditioner (paul mitchell knockoff) - it's okay. it has a very strong smell of menthol and tea tree oil, and don't use it as an overnight pre-poo, you'll get a headache. other than that it's not terrible.

also... have you all tried sally's other generic lines? they've got knockoff lines of pureology (called coloresse) and redken (called 5th avenue), both of which are BETTER than the originals, in my opinion!

I have used sallys generic version of:

Paul mitchell the leave in conditioner - use on a regular basis. Don't need much, a little goes a long way
Nexxus humectress - absolutely lovely
Aussie moist - it's ok can't complain though it still left my hair soft

I dont see how. the ingredients are the exact same. :look:

I used the Generic Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil line. IT works just as good as the real one--expect they don't have the entire line (just the cond and shampoo I think.) To me it's the same.
Actually I think I respond better to the Generic version...

I bought the Generic CHi and it straightened as well as the Real Chi. The only difference was the Generic was giving of these...fumes (i guess you could call it)that would irritate my throat.
:ohwell:
