The dye didn't take, but it relaxed my curl pattern!

The dye didn't take in my hair, is that a good or bad thing? :perplexed

I used jet black. Shampooed first, went under the dryer for about 30 mins. And even kept it in for an hour and a half longer...nada.

I used Adore plus. I was hoping the heat would open up the cuticles, it didn't I suppose.:ohwell:

But one thing I did notice is that it relaxed my curl pattern a whole lot!:yay: I literally ran the comb through my hair before braiding. And none came out as it usually does. Has this happened to anyone else?

i hate adore (black and red). it use to dry my hair out after the next wash. make sure you deep condition and up your moisture.

was this your first time using adore???

I did deep condition right after I washed it out because it was dry as heck. :ohwell:

This was my first time using adore, I used jazzing before and it didn't take either. Ugh. I'm mad because my hair color looks really dull, and I really wanted it to work.
I don't want to use a permanent.

im a manic panic kinda girly! i love their semi-permanent color dyes. not as harsh (to me).

I use to use dark and lovely jet black semi-permanent dye...i really liked it. made my hair feel soft and it lasted a long time.

as for just a basic rinse...i use to use jazzing as well, but stopped and moved to adore..that dried me out and i used another brand and i really liked it. I can't remember the name right now. I will be back to let you know what the name was.

ETA: Its called Kiss Express

I agree with boing boing on the Kiss Express rec. Also, would you be willing to try a demi-permanent color? Redken Shades EQ condition the hair, make it shiny as heck and the color comes out so potent and rich.

Perhaps you can try using a protein filler in the semi-permanent or on your hair before hand so that it'll help the color take better (I hear this works)

HTH

I wouldn't mind trying a demi. My mom uses that, and it works well in her hair. She uses Clairol though.

Thnks:)
