I like Aubrey Organics (but it can only be found online or in health food store)! Kenra and KeraCare do well in my hair also. Those are my main brands! Not cheap at all, but the price is reasonable based on the results I've seen! The only thing is you cant walk into your average beauty supply store and find them.

I voted natural-combination of both but I'm in the same position as the OP. My mom uses VO5 and I tried them when I started doing my hair myself but IMO it does hardly anything for my hair and dries it out. But I'm still finding out what my hair likes and doesn't like so while I'm experimenting with Kenra and Pantene I use VO5 as I need it. But IMO I don't think Pantene is all that expensive @ $6 or so for most of their products. Kenra's actually the most expensive shampoo I've bought @ $12.

Hair moisturizers and oils are what's so expensive IMO.
