I'm not scared of the bald cut so much as the "in between grow out phase".

I think if I cut it bald, once it started to grow in looking crazy I would just cut it again and never grow it out. I hate the inbetween length where your hair is too short to pony or bun but too long to look right so you just have to grin and bear it. :nono:

I had to bc once a few years ago because of relaxer gone wrong. I was so frustrated with the hair falling out that I just told my hairdresser I don't care cut it all off. lol I got mixed reactions. I don't think I can do it now even though I am really tempted.........the two textures are driving me crazy.:wallbash:

I transitioned for 14months and then Bc'd I couldn't carr off a shaved head.. I'd look like an egg on shoulders lol

i transitioned for more than a year but when i chopped i still ended up with less than 2 inches of hair because i had heat damage.

How many of beautiful LHCF women said the hell with transition and bc'd down to a fade? Just curious. BTW I think it takes a beauiful and extra confindent woman to make that decision. If you did kudos to you. If you didn't your still bold and beautiful . You can post comments if you would like. Thank you

I cut all of my hair off to a fade back in October of 2004/2005 because of one bad relaxer and girl, I was freaking hot! I was fierce I tell you!

Gay men loved me, girls kept giving me compliments. I strutted myself around like I was a model and then I let my hair grow out and I swear it turned on me! LOL

My hair just morphed into a weird Don King/Phil Specter (sp?) furball. And ontop of that it never grew past earlength while natural after 3 years!

My mom took me to a salon 2 days before Christmas 2008 and told the stylist to "fix her baby up" since she couldn't take looking at me anymore! LOL I used to look like these 2, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01372/Phil-Spector-afro_1372154i.jpg and http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_xM6S1O620QE/SSd4Rea_NSI/AAAAAAAACYo/Qg6wtfSunzs/s400/king_don.jpg

I really did look like a female Don King and that was far from sexy!

So now I'm back to being unnatural after a couple of haircuts and relaxers and I'm loving it. I'm restarting my hair growth campaign and I'm shocked at how quickly my hair grows now compared to when I was natural. I thank MT, Affirm and Jesus (of course not in that exact order). lol

I really believe that when I wore a fro/natural hair even in braids and other protective styles, my hair dried out too quickly and broke off easily where as now, I can keep my relaxed hair well moisturized easily and retain length. When I was relaxed before, I was always/close to APL or could get there without too many problems, so I look forward to getting there again around Christmas.:)

I can understand your concerns. I'm at that in between length stage now..and although I refuse to cut (even 'split ends') I'm not as fulfilled with this stage as I was 2 months ago...I'm in braids so that I don't do anything to take out this frustration on my steady growing TWA!

as for the poll, I didn't know what to select since I wasn't 'bald' but I only transitioned for about 5ish months so I didn't have THAT much hair to do anything with!

I've rocked a fade for a couple of years, and thought about cutting my hair that short again instead of a long transition. Around months 5-10, things tend to get a bit shaky, and tempt me to relax again with a weird lopsided fro. So this time around, I'm going for a lengthier transition.
