Thank you for your recommendation to use the protein conditoners after my permanent color. My hair is doing very well and my normally very dry ends which I thought I would have to trim are very soft. The only reason I figure they are this soft is from the color itself.

I finally had to the time to go back and read Shamboosie's chapter on hair color and he recommended the same thing, he recommended using a creme every 4 days for 4 weeks to start your conditioning program then once a week. He also mentioned how permanent color will make your relaxed hair even more porous. Making it very soft and weak and that you would need to basically change your regimen somewhat to build the hair back up and accommodate the color.

So ladies, keep this in mind when wanting to make changes to your hair so that you won't experience problems. /images/graemlins/smile.gif The whole point is to "AVOID" any setbacks.

Kitkat, you wanted an update on my permanent color. It is working well for me, I like it. But, like I mentioned above, I have had to make some changes to my regular regimen in order to keep my hair from getting dry and breaking. I switched my shampoo from Nexxus Therappe to their Botanoil shampoo and I'm using keraphix once a week to build the strength back into my hair. My hair feels wonderful, but I don't think I'll use a permanent color again. I would rather use something milder like Jazzing.

Good for you Nita!!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif Glad to see you've gotten your hair problems under control and your hair is responding well. Tracy does give out some good info. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
