Texturizing sections of hair only?

Has anyone ever done anything like this or known of anyone that has done this? Is this a recipe for disaster?

For example, texturizing areas like the hairline and parts of the crown only as opposed to all over...

I've never done that before. I guess if you have enough new growth and keep the curl pattern consistent, then it shouldn't be a problem. Doing a strand test would help determine how long you should leave the texturizer in.

Thanx ladies...my hair texture is starting to change drastically over the last couple months...it had been changing all along, but its extremely noticeable this time. The hair at my nape up to my ears is slowly becoming 3b

and I don't want it to get straight from the chemicals...but my crown is 3c and my hairline is 4a, but very frizzy. I'd almost just want to touch up my hairline only to reduce the frizz but I didn't know if this was a bad idea.

I know people who have done this as well due to the fact that some people have different textures of hair in different sections of there hair. I've done it as well sometimes. My hair is texturized and sometimes I go a REALLY long time between touch-ups. I have at times touched-up my edges in-between time...

Your hair sounds exactly like mine. If you're going to go through with it, remember to do a strand test first. Since you have various hairtypes they'll each process differently. Actually, I suggest that you not texturize sections of your hair. Use products like gel or styles like braid outs that will reduce the frizz.
