Texturizer Not a Total Disaster After All!

Well, it turns out the Soft & Beautiful Botanicals texturizer I applied to my 4A virgin hair last week has not turned out so terribly after all. I wanted to approximate a look similar to the Curve silkening process. Immediately after it was done, I thought it had gotten too straight. But after washing it once and being very stringent about keeping it moisturized, I am happy to report that my curl pattern is looser, but it still is natural looking. I can still wear twists and twist-outs. The plus is they don't shrink as much and have more "hang" to them.

Now, a question:

Part of my hair (crown) was under-processed by the texturizer. Should I reapply it to that portion of my head only so that the texture is balanced out?

Hello Chica!

I told you things weren't as bad as you thought. About the hair at your crown, I'd leave it alone at the moment. You sound pretty happy and satisfied, right now, so I say just work with it. You might find out that it isn't that big of a problem either. Give yourself time to adjust to your new hair texture. Good luck!

Glad things worked out well for you. I have to agree with Brownie, leave it alone for now and work with it.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I go back and forth about wether or not I should have texturized...but I'm pretty satisfied with my hair at the moment...a lot less shrinkage...
Also I dont' see anything wrong with trying to fix the crown..but I would apply a heavy conditioner to it and leave in in no more than 5 minutes...but only if you feel confident about it.

Glad it worked out! I would wait about 3 weeks or more! The same thing happened to me. I didn't know how strong I wanted the text. so I had my beautician simply coat my hair(like you would a conditioner) with the relaxer, then rinse. That only took out a very tiny portion of the curl so I had her to put it through my hair for five minutes, 3 weeks later and Perfecto!
